Are you tired of your regular ol’ headphones?  Here’s a great DIY showing you how to make Steampunk Headphones.

To construct this headset, I started with items commonly found at home improvement stores. I wanted to use mostly copper or brass parts, at least for the parts that are exposed. Unfortunately, copper and brass are heavy (compared to plastic). I use a headset frequently so I didn’t want to end up with something too heavy. The end look has an industrial flavor because of the holes drilled to lighten it. Although, I still think it fits in the Steampunk genre.

Budweiser Telephone!

Posted in Consumer, Cool, Design, Entertainment, Funny, Gadgets, Household by max on the July 6th, 2008 at 7:29 am

Budweiser Telephone!

If you can’t drink it, it’s not beer but if you can talk to it, it could be a Budweiser telephone. (or just a beer bottle and you got too drunk)

Too bad, the beer bottle isn’t real glass, making it too easy to tell it’s not a real beer bottle.

  • Very Vivid Budweiser beer shape phone.
  • Beer Telephone is prefect as a decoration in your bedroom / living-room / bar-table / computer desk / pub / snack store
  • Last Number Redial.
  • The functions of “*” and “#” button are not the same as usual telephones. The”*” button is for Redial, and the “#” button is for Pause. There are no usual “*” and “#” button in the Phone.
  • Enter your desired numbers, suppose the line is busy, just press the reset button and press”*” then the last number will be redialed automatically
  • When rings, pick up your phone, you will be incontact with your caller
  • Just stand the phone upright on any flat surface to hang up, lift to get dial tone.
  • Both Headphones and mike are attached on the body of the Budweiser bottle.

DIY Headphones

DIY Headphones

Here’s a cool DIY headphone.  I can feel ya because I listen to music all day long too.  As soon as I am off the computer, I immediate switch onto my MP3 or iPod.

Since I listen to music/podcasts/audiobooks throughout the day while I’m working, I adapted a pair of normal safety earphones for speakers, and added a vintage look. I cut the outside portion of the cups off, replaced with a curved flat sheet of plastic -over which I mounted the grill (from an old record player) and the cork which I sanded to shape. Then I painted the rest of the shell green, and installed some $50 drivers. I still use them daily.

Soft Values Portable Belt Speakers!

Posted in Audio, Consumer, Cool, Design, Entertainment, Gadgets, Music, Speakers by max on the May 27th, 2008 at 9:19 am

Soft Values Portable Belt Speakers!

Here’s an interesting concept belt speakers from Soft Values.  I don’t know why I’d use instead of a regular headphones but still, kudos for a great concept.

The Soft Values Portable Speaker sits in a small, ball-like form that encloses a soft, fabric sock and a strap. This sock will unfold out of the speaker and cover it up to give the Soft Values Portable Speaker a nice and soft feel. The strap obviously comes in handy to lug this little sound box around. Though we don’t have too many details about the speaker, a Bluetooth connection for streaming music wirelessly would be a nice touch. This speaker might feature a rechargeable lithium ion batteries and charging it may be thorough a USB port. If these nifty features make it to the Soft Values Portable Speaker, it would be one concept worth watching out for, although the design seems a little too girly for our liking.
