RealDVD is now offering unlimited downloads of DVDs to your PC for a flat fee so you can hook up your HDTV and watch high-quality movies.

I bet there would be many more sites like this in the near future, it’s a great idea for people who refuse to pay their cable bills.

HDTV Hack - How to Convert your RPTV/DLPTV into a 100-inch TV!

Posted in A+Featured Hacks, Consumer, Cool, DoItYourself!, Educational, Entertainment, Gadgets, HOWTO, Hack, Household, Projectors, Projects, TV by max on the September 30th, 2008 at 7:47 am

Here’s a cool DIY on how to turn your rear projection TV (or DLPTV) into a 100-inch cinema screen by ripping the front of your TV and adding a bigger screen further away.

I do like it but I assume that the video quality will degrade when doing this so don’t blame me because everything gets bigger after this hack.

I bought Sony KDFE50A10 rear projection TV that has 50″ screen. After an year or so, I started to feel like the screen size is shrinking, really, ask any one who has a big screen TV. I wanted to buy a projector and have 100″ screen. But with more than $2500 already invested, the WAF (Wife Approval Factor) is zero. So, I have been thinking to convert this RPTV into a rear projector, but I couldn’t find any help on the net.

Haha, Americans used as “BullShi*” people in Canadian Ads!

Posted in A+Featured Entertainment, Advertising, Business, Business Ideas, Consumer, Cool, Entertainment, Funny, Gadgets, TV by max on the September 22nd, 2008 at 9:16 am

Here’s easyhome.com, who’s using Americans as BS to market their Sony 52″ HD LCD TVs.

As an American, I don’t mind this at all, I think it’s rather funny and hilarious that a company would use prejudice to sell them.

But I think I know the reasons why this happened.

If you go back to one of the episodes on South Park where everyone’s yelling, “I hate Canada”, I think that kinda explains it.  Although South Park may be funny and supposed to be only comedy, those hate-Canada episodes really bothered me as I feel it was complete, utter prejudice/racism against Canadian people.

In the end, I did ask couple of my Canadian friends what they though of it, and they didn’t care, they said it was funny so…

You know what though, they should have really put Bush and called him a “miserable failure” or put one of those signs, “Someone give Bush a blowjob so we can impeach him!”.  (Now that would get ALL the anti-Bush supporters in America to buy an HDTV from the Canadian website)

The above pic is a splash screen you can see when visiting Canadian electronics and appliance retailer Easyhome, notifying visitors of a four-day sale. Depicted on the Sony TV in front of the American flag is a politician flashing pearly whites and a double-thumbed “This guy!” Beneath him is the none-too-veiled message “Even BS looks good on a 52-inch HD LCD TV.” Maybe so, Canada, but some think it’s even better with the volume all the way down.

Comcast 10 Million Pixel HDTV!

Posted in Consumer, Cool, Design, Educational, Entertainment, Gadgets, Industrial, TV by max on the June 22nd, 2008 at 1:30 pm

Click Here to View in Full Screen Mode

Wow, this thing IS pretty amazing, when can I buy one for $2000?

One thing for sure, Comcast has money to burn…

The media wall covers an area of over 2100 square feet and uses four-millimeter LED lights, packed together as one giant, seamless array. It plays all manner of video, and even cool segments where three-dimensional-looking dancers seem to hover in thin air at five times the resolution of HD television.

Protect Your TV from Wii Damage with TV Armor!

Now you can protect your precious HDTV you just bought with TV Armor, a thick acrylic protection that goes over the front of your TV.  Definitely, this is what you need if you play Wii.

I have to ask though, is the image still same after putting this on?

Suntronic 102 inch HDTV for your backyard!

Posted in Consumer, Cool, Entertainment, Gadgets, Household, TV by max on the May 24th, 2008 at 9:04 pm

Suntronic 102 inch HDTV for your backyard!

102″ TV for your backyard can be a lot better than the LED TV we mentioned yesterday.

Not only are they large, but these tough-guy TVs can function in temperatures ranging from -40 to more than 120 degrees, have built-in heaters and air conditioners, and of course are waterproof.

Live coverage from Sony’s CES press conference at Engadget

The greatest part about NOT going to CES this year? I get to sit on my butt and read all these tech blog write about them. Well, it’s good that I am acting sorta as a “human filter” to filter out all the crappy stuff and post the best on Zedomax.

Anyways, you can get a really good overview of Sony’s CES press conference over at Engadget. I think this is one of the longest Engadget posts I’ve seen in awhile.

Here’s an excerpt from the blog post:

4:53PM - Talking about the exit from microprojection, and focusing on flat-panel. “According to NPD, Sony was the leader in market leader in dollars and units — even with the highest average selling price.” Wait, is this guy calling his customers suckers? Two new models: 40 and 46-inch, as well as the 32 and 37-inch 1080p models with DMex. “Ten of these new sets will be full HD 1080p — which as you’ll remember Sony created and popularized years ago.” No, Sony, no. You didn’t “invent” 1080p HDTV. Nice try.

I agree, Sony does suck at trying to sell itself…

Walmart to sell more gadgets

Posted in Business, Consumer by david on the May 16th, 2007 at 1:09 am

The store that is renown for selling cheap and in bulk are looking to revise their damaged profit margins by selling more gadgets and electricals, at last someone has seen the light!

walmart

For us mere consumers there can be nothing better than a super store price war, they lose and we win, with prices cut to the bone it will be a great time to get over there and pick up some bargains.

walmart

So what can we expect to see in the stores, lots of computer peripherals like skype phones etc, web cams and printers, but it will be probably be a great opportunity to pick up a bargain in the HDTV market, digital cameras and video cameras too.

If this pays off, Walmart can actually revise their current position and sink a few competitors at the same time, so they are playing a serious game now.
