Flickr 3D Tiltviewer!

Wow, these guys know how to make use of Flickr API. Here’s a 3D Tiltviewer that let’s you hop different Flickr pictures in 3D!
TiltViewer allows you to browse Flickr’s most interesting images in a 3D space. Images are pulled from Flickr’s Interestingness list.
TiltViewer was built using Away3D, a branch of Papervision. Currently Away3D provides better handling of mouse events for nested 3D Objects. One limitation of Away3D is that there is no access to a 3D object’s sprite, so you can’t apply filter or alpha effects. I’m guessing that soon these features will be added to both engines.
Does a 3D UI give more functionality than the equivalent 2D interface? No, but its certainly a lot cooler! Part of the motivation to build this was to explore ways to make 3D interfaces simple and intuitive.
Being able to load Flickr images into a 3D engine was recently made possible when Flickr added crossdomain XMLs to it’s image servers. Thanks Flickr!
Who wears a jacket like this?
Well anyone who likes space invaders of course, after all nobody else would, or would they?

This is a design from Scandinavian designer Junk de Luxe and the aliens really have invaded because there are hundreds of them all around the top and working their way down. I wonder who will be the first to be seen wearing one of these?

Toilet Graphics

Wow, these graphics are sick for toilets except if it’s a house with all guys, you’d never be putting the seat down so you never get to see the graphics. But then once you put it on, you might start putting that seat down.
Get your name in lights
This is the light message board, where you can write the message that you want your friends or colleagues to see, flick the switch after choosing either flashing or blinking and your message will be seen anyone and everyone, which is so much better than leaving notes around that disappear and nobody ever sees.

As well as setting the flashing or blinking, there is also an option that allows you to change the colour to single or multi colour mode.
This device runs on three AAA batteries.
Priced at around $40

What’s the time?
Now you just cannot go wrong with a clock of this size can you?

No matter where this timepiece is placed you would be able to see it, but going on the size of it, I am a little worried as to what the alarm would be like, would it be loud?
No price as this is a museum display.

Google SketchUp for Dummies book!

OOhh.. check out this Google SketchUp for Dummies book. It might be the perfect free 3D tool you were looking for last month.
Remember when your high school English teacher explained that every word in the sentences you write needs to carry some meaning? While the rest of us missed that point, Aidan Chopra was paying attention. Google Sketchup for Dummies is a tightly written, fun to read book that gives a lot of byte for your buck. Aidan Chopra works at Google as the product evangelist for Google SketchUp and he’s the editor of the monthly SketchUpdate email newsletter. He knows SketchUp inside and out and uses plain English to show you the ropes.
Google SketchUp is a 3D drawing program that defies easy description. It’s fun, playful and at the same time very powerful.
The dancing T shirt
Well this is another one of those t shorts that go with sound of the music in other words the t shirt moves with the grooves.

We have seen similar style t shirts like the wi-fi one that we wrote about a while ago. But this one actually reacts with the beat of the music, which makes it look great.
The t shirt is made from 100% cotton and requires 4 x AAA batteries, now that’s a lot of batteries!
