Karin Johansson’s lamp is a wonderful and eco-friendly concept that uses the globe of the earth as your source of light and the kinetic energy of your hands as the source of power. A dynamo placed inside the globe converts the kinetic energy to light, when you spin it. It’s amazing how the globe glows without the aid of power supply or batteries

Do you own a Plasma ball?  If yes, then here’s some tricks you can play with your plasma ball using some flourescent and other lights.

find just looking and touching a plasma globe kinda boring, I wanted to do something more fun with the plasma globe.
Some times later, I saw a short video on You Tube about a florescent tube lighting up when placed near the plasma globe, I was surprised that the florescent tube glows near the plasma globe without any physical electric contract!
So I started experimenting with my plasma globe with gas discharge tubes and some solid-state things. And it is amazing how some things reacted to the electric fields that is created by the plasma globe.

Like showering in the dark?

The LED Shower Light is a brilliant idea. It installs to a standard shower pipe in mere minutes. When you turn the shower on, the water powers a turbine and the LED Shower Light…well, lights up! Blue let’s you know the water is chilly. When the water warms up to 89° F (32° C), the light changes to red. Now you can step in and not freeze your giblets off. And you don’t even need to turn on the light now, because your whole shower glows. It makes for a much nicer morning, trust us. Cool, “The Full Moon” cabinet is painted using a special eco-friendly glow-in-the-dark paint for you get a nice image of the moon in the dark.

Created using ecologically safe paint (ELI ecolightinside), this “Fullmoon” sideboard furniture has the ability to “create special effects” in the dark. I assume that means it glows in the dark or maybe it shoots laser beams. The “Fullmoon” will be on-view at the SOHO temporary gallery in Milan during the “dEMOsign” exhibition April 18-20, 2008.

I finally got my HP DV9000-CTO notebook back from HP.  Somehow, my motherboard burned out but they replaced it so that’s good.

Michael Page submitted his cool GameCube Zelda mod on ebay. Check it out and bid on it if you want it before someone else takes it!

I just finished making my Gold Zelda GameCube. I am selling it on eBay and giving a portion to the ‘child’s play charity.’

The top of the console where you inset the disc has a large image of Navi the fairy from the Zelda series which glows blue when the console is on. This looks amazing!

Just above the controller ports there have been precision drilled holes that light up, displaying the player number.

The controller ports themselves light up blue (player1), green (player2), white (player3) and red (player4).

Both the right and left fans on the GameCube light up in a bright white, which illuminates the ground around the GameCube.

The once black disc cover plate has been changed over with a transparent panel, which lets you see you games running. The discs inside the GameCube are lit up by three blue super bright LED’s, built into the case.

The consoles ability to play games has not been affected at all, it works perfectly! The extra LED’s use a tiny amount of power, it is pretty much as energy efficient as a normal GameCube.
