Kool Boost Cigarettes with a Powerball!

Here’s an interesting new type of cigarette that lets you squeeze extra menthol by squeezing the butt-end of the cigarette.  Of course, this won’t help cure or lessen cancer…duh!

Video after the jump!

iPhone Earth lets you view the Globe by tilting your iPhone!

Here’s a really cool 3D iPhone application that is coming soon. (You can sign up for the beta for now…)

The iPhone Earth lets you view satellite imagery of the globe in 3D, sorta like Google Earth, but customized for the iPhone so you can rotate it back and forth for control.

I was particularly impressed when I saw they had used the iPhone accelerometers to allow you to tilt and rotate your view by tilting the iPhone. They weren’t downloading the imagery data over the net, it was all running local with just imagery for the San Francisco area. But, it was still very cool! The application is under development using the Apple iPhone SDK. So, assuming they finish the product, it should run under iPhone 2.0. You would definitely only want to run a real app like this if you had a WiFI connection or 3G - imagery and 3D takes a lot of bandwidth.

Cool stuff here.

Have a look at this cool Nightclub LED Lighting System. If I owned a nightclub this system would be one of the first enhancements that would be added. The company has done quite a few 3D models of their designs which provide a great idea of what the end result will look like. I would be interested in knowing what type of RGB LED element they use and how they get the color to fill the globe as evenly as they do.

Draw your own globe

Posted in Consumer, Cool, Earth, Funny, Gadgets by david on the November 4th, 2007 at 12:00 pm

This is the sort of globe that would be dictators need; this would enable them to redraw the world’s borders to suit their own needs.

blackboard globe

It’s a blackboard type material and comes with chalk, as this can be easily applied and removed as and when needed, but it’s going to be hard to get the actual layout of the countries and boundaries.

This would be good to give to world leaders to see how accurate they are when they have draw out the shape of the world.

Wow, here’s another cool LED Globe

I have seen a few POV globes before, but this one is the best yet! Looks like GNG Display had some time on their hands and decided to have some fun.

“See the world in 3D and write your message on the world. It’s a POV display. It has 256 white smd led for drawing the world and 32 blue smd led for the message section.”

Cellphone Art

Here’s a great way to make some new technological art using old cellphones. But what are those guys doing? Are they supposed to be part of the art???

Samsung unveiled ‘mobile-globe’, its glove-shaped creation in Ukraine, which is made of Samsung mobile phones from the old model to the latest ones such as Jasper Morrison phone and Ultra Edition 10.9. The creation has been established at Caravan shopping mall in Kiev, Ukraine in order for brand exposure of Samsung.

Floating Earth Globe

Posted in Business, Consumer, Cool, Funny, Gadgets by david on the July 24th, 2007 at 3:00 pm

This could be off a sci fi film set, where the villain has a model of earth spinning around on his desk, dreaming of how one day he will rule the world.

floating globe

However this is a fairly serious piece of engineering, which involves electromagnetic forces to keep the globe floating in mid air, with visible signs of support.

The globe is a really great device and because it is black along with the stand this make is look even more cool and desirable.

Priced at $140.
