Eee PC Hack - How to install Ubuntu Eee for ASUS Eee PCs!

Posted in A+Featured Hacks, Computer, Consumer, Cool, DoItYourself!, Educational, Gadgets, HOWTO, Hack, Linux, Operating System, Projects, Ubuntu by max on the September 18th, 2008 at 11:57 pm

In case you have bought an ASUS Eee PC with Windows, there’s a special version of Ubuntu, customized just for the Eee PC models.

This allows you to install the Ubuntu on Eee PCs without too much headache as it has already been configured for the factory hardware.

Ubuntu Eee is not only Ubuntu optimized for the Asus Eee PC. It’s an operating system, using the Netbook Remix interface, which favors the best software available instead of open source alternatives (ie. Skype instead of Ekiga). Sounds great! How can I help out? Please consider contributing with knowledge or money. And while you’re at it, please become a fan on Facebook and add yourself to the map of users

Here’s some resources for Ubuntu Eee for all you Eee PC lovers:

Another Miserable Failure - McCain is a Computer Illiterate!

Posted in Computer, Consumer, Cool, Educational, Entertainment, Funny, Government, Politics, Video by max on the September 12th, 2008 at 11:41 pm

Well it comes to us no surprise that one of the Presidential nominees McCain does not know how to use a computer. (For god sakes he’s 72 years old! Let’s hope he doesn’t have a heart attack before the elections)

If we are going to have a computer-illiterate McCain as President, we might as well have this 102 year old woman who has her own Facebook.

What I don’t understand is that McCain has all the money in the world but doesn’t know how to use the computer???  Even my girlfriend “was” a computer illiterate until she started browsing the web for her favorite celebrities and whatnot.

I don’t mind that you can’t type but for god sakes, at least get one of those voice recognition software.  No wonder all those “you suck” e-mails I sent to McCain never got read.  (Darn!)

Okay, enough for political bashing, I guess I am more for Obama at this point, it was always Hillary or Obama for me anyways, no more republicans in the house plz!

LinkedIn vs. Facebook, which one do you use more?

Posted in Business, Business Ideas, Consumer, Entrepreneurs, Web, WebApp by max on the May 6th, 2008 at 5:08 pm

I was browsin’ over at ReadWriteWeb today and they had an interesting article on LinkedIn versus Facebook, of which one is better for business.

Well, in my opinion, it’d definitely be LinkIn as I haven’t seen anyone have their Facebook account on their business card but I have seen numerous LinkIn profiles.

To be honest, I use neither right now as they are simply more services to keep track of.  (Well I should at least be linked in…)

The more you use these services, the more spam you will have to deal with.  Same thing with Twitter, it’s all an over-marketed Web2.0 services you don’t need.  (For some reason, people are really takin’ on Twitter these days…)

You might not agree with me but yes, sometimes you do have to turn your cellphones off and rely on brick and mortar methods.  Otherwise, you will only be consumed by the enormous amount of information at today’s fast moving face.

The best way?  Make your own LinkedIn or Facebook and keep it PRIVATE!

Lol…yes maybe we ARE getting too serious here.

Let’s just forget that we even need those services.  Just stick with a big binder of business cards, much simpler to think about than all those usernames and passwords…

(You will understand me if your brain is stuck to the computer screen and your blackberry 24/7, helplessly not able to un-stick yourself while you want to…)

Mouse that hides your games

No office should be without this USB powered mouse, you can work happily away and have the occasional peek at whatever site you may wish, like FaceBook or an online game.

phantom mouse

But should the boss come along, then it only take one click of the small red button and this will minimize all of the applications, leaving the desk top visible, not only is this very cool, it could also save you your job.
