DIY HACK - How to make your own Video Cassette USB Hub!

Ever wonder, can I make my own cool looking USB hub that doesn’t look like a USB hub?
Well, here’s some good news for you, there’s full instructions over at instructables on how to make your own video cassette USB hub. Thank Alan over at HackedGadgets for finding it. (He always finds the coolest gadget hacks.)
Nowadays, usb hubs are getting smaller and smaller (and then, they fall behind your desk because the cable is heavier than the hub an then you have to crouch behind your computer to recover it)
So I needed something better (of course, i could have simply glued it in place )
I got some old videotapes to throw away, and suddenly an idea hit me: I like the look of these old tapes, needed an usb hub that won’t slide behind the desk, why not build an videotape usb hub?
And some LEDs could be added to nearly everything, and an videotape forms no exception i think..So save an old tape off the landfills and give it a new, fancy life…
DIY HACK - How to make your own Laptop Stands and let your Laptop last longer!

Check out some of these really cool ways you can make your own Laptop stands. My favorite is as seen above, the wine corks and PVC pipe stand.
Btw, these are really great ways to make your laptop live longer. Without any space between the desk and the laptop, you are practically killing and overheating your laptop. Most people don’t realize this until they overheat their laptops and it’s too late. I actually use a Laptop Chiller from Target, which is basically a Laptop Stand with a built-in USB fan that also drives out hot air through the back.
The room in a box
This is a great space saving idea, where everything neatly packs into this small box.

What you get is an armoire, a desk, a height-adjustable stool, two more stools, a six-shelf bookcase, and a bed with a mattress, all in a 31 inch by 47 inch box.

They claim that the contents of the box could be removed and assembled by two people in just ten minutes, with no tools required!

No office should be without this USB powered mouse, you can work happily away and have the occasional peek at whatever site you may wish, like FaceBook or an online game.

But should the boss come along, then it only take one click of the small red button and this will minimize all of the applications, leaving the desk top visible, not only is this very cool, it could also save you your job.

Giant iPod ear buds
These are what are what you call ear buds, a bit too large to place in your ears, unless you have a huge head.

These giant sized ear buds will make a great addition to the top of desk or work space, and because they are giant sized they look really cool and have got to get people talking, which is great. They are in fact 500 times the size of a regular set of ear buds.

Fancy being a farmer
Being stuck in an office is definitely an incentive for someone to want to live in the country and have a small holding.

These cows are interactive too, so you could get yourself a whole herd of these guys on your desk and drive everyone mad.

A classic vacuum
This is cross between the demand for retro items and the demand for USB driven devices. These two have been very carefully put together and the finished article looks quite impressive and by the looks of the image actually does pick some bits up off the desk.

This would come in very handy when your eating biscuits over the keyboard and all of the crumbs fall down in between the keys, if it can pick those up then it is going to be a really a great device, but I fear that it will not be powerful enough to suck the crumbs up out of the small gap.
This is priced at $19.99

The Mainframe bites back
May this be a lesson to you next time you thump the desk or shout at the computer, otherwise your harmless PC may turn into something like in night.

The little computer model is around ten inches high, made from tough vinyl and is finished in a nice orange and gray color, which adds to the menacing look, especially when in one hand he is holding an axe, for what reason I don’t know, maybe to chop computer users fingers off!
Priced nicely at $54.99.

How to stop your can from being taken
You know how it is, your at work and it’s a really hot day, but you know that you have got a can of your favourite soda in that mini fridge on the desk, but as you open the door you find that the fridge is bear, some low life colleague has taken your last cold can.

This where the Koolatron coin operated mini fridge comes in to its own, you can store up to ten cans of nice cool soda and you know that it will either still be there, or there will be some cash in the machine to pay for the ones that are missing, now that is what you call free enterprise!
