Zedomax DIY 127 - Make an Ethernet controlled Color Organ!

For this weekend, we will show you how to make an ethernet controlled color organ that can be applied for some kind of stage lighting.

We will be using the party light we made and simply plugin the MaxPORT module to the serial port of the CuSB22R.

What are relays? You need relays for various DC/AC devices. Even your car has 30-40 relays on it for your head lamps, tail lights, turn signals, and etc…

Here’s an example of making a Party Light using a CUSB22R that has relays on-board.
You have couple options:

For small to medium apps requiring up to 5A at 250VAC or 5A at 30VDC,
you can try relay4 board or relay8 boards. For continous ON/OFF AC operation, you could be better off with SSR4 or SSR8 Boards.

There’s also Relay Cell or SSR Cell for single output usages and these cost less than $6.

For higher voltage applications, you might want to try:
Allen Bradley relays

Omron relays

Omega relays

Mouser catalog has good options for relay searching too.
