Check out this Bandai Lumiodot, which is basically an advanced version of Lite-Brite.

It may interest to get one of these as they can substitute a nice picture frame any day.

This Lumiodot can make a great gift for your kids to play with “pixel” art all day long.

The Luminodot has an insanely dense grid of capable of holding about 3500 light pegs (more than twice as many as the original Lite-Brite).  Thanks to its grid of 70 x 50 individually addressable locations, you can create much more detailed scenes than you could ever with the original.

Crack is Whack - iPhone 3G Cracks Everywhere!

iPhone 3G Cracks - Who cares, I told you so!

The news is that iPhone 3G is causing a quite a stir with its “crack”.  Well, it’s always a great idea to have never bought one in the first place.  Wait until the “crack” is gone.

My honest recommendation is to wait for the iPhone 4G, where speeds will actually match the dollar amount you pay out from your pocket.  Or maybe this crack isn’t that common unless you drop it from the roof.

“Crack is whack!” Whitney Houston said.

DIY HACK - How to make a Solar Heater under 50 bucks!

Posted in Consumer, Cool, DoItYourself!, Earth, Educational, Energy, Entertainment, Gadgets, Hack, Projects, Solar by max on the April 26th, 2007 at 11:44 pm

Solar Heater

Here’s a great DIY on how to make a solar heater. Although the one he made is not functional you can probably easily make it functional by adding an inlet pipe and outlet pipe plus a small PC fan. But the theory is very impressive and this thing could be made more efficient with a little bit more work.

Using the same equipment and methods, I determined the outlet temperature to be about 95 degrees - thus a 15 degree temperature differential. Not 110 degrees, but not bad , considering I didn’t even break $50 in materials - most of that being the plexiglas window.

Obviously don’t have the inlet and outlet attached to the garage - figures that the day I finish the furnace, it’s 80 degrees and sunny and it looks like we’re finally done with winter. Dad recommends wiring a pusher fan at the end of the inlet tube to keep the air circulating through the furnace.

Brass Lion Robot Poster!

Brass Lion RObot

Check out this cool concept robot!  You can get a large poster size for about 40 bucks.

Designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel himself, the Brass Lion was a marvel even in the impetus of the industrial revolution. Vaulting into true international fame when a single Brass Lion saved the charge of the light brigade in the Crimean war when one smashed into the Tsarist artillery positions where it was eventually felled but not before bursting open and showering its attackers with boiling water and gouts of steam.

Color Changing Showers!

Color Changing Showers!3

Color Changing Showers!2

Wow, check out these color changing shower heads! It seems pretty basic (probably just high intensity LEDs on top), regardless, we like the overall design and originality! I’d love to have one of these showers, it’d be really cool… (well, maybe we can hack one easy…)

Perfect for creating a dramatic accent color, or merely for it’s therapeutic effect the lighted shower head embraces contemporary style. Created by Signorini Design, the Ultra Slim shower head is available as both a ceiling-mounted and a wall-mounted shower head. The wall-mounted version elegantly reaches out from the wall, while the ceiling-mount shower head has two styles. One which offer a flush mounted finish and one which suspends from the ceiling. Available from Signorini Design, the Ultra slim shower head adds a bright vibrancy to your daily shower routine.
