Great wrist video player

Posted in Audio, Cool, Entertainment, Free, Gadgets, Music, Watches, cell phones, mp3 by david on the January 24th, 2008 at 12:00 pm

At first this will probably look as if you have a piece of old 35mm film around your wrist, but under closer investigation the device looks even more impressive than you would have imagined.

epaper

You get the standard time and date, but the best thing the fully functioning Mp4 player, which is just so cool.

epaper

This is a really sophisticated piece of kit.

The USB powerstick

Posted in Batteries, Computer, Consumer, Cool, Funny, Gadgets, USB, cell phones, mp3 by david on the January 22nd, 2008 at 2:00 pm

This may look like a flash drive, but it’s not because it is a power drive which will power up any device as fast as it would if you had plugged it into the wall.

power stick

This is a good idea if you are going to be out all long and have no way of charging up an essential device. To charge it up it needs to be placed into the USB port for around ninety minutes, this can then be taken with you and by using one of the nine connectors supplied is can then be used on cell phones, mp 3 players and other devices.

Priced at $70.

Looks like iPhoneCam is coming soon!

Posted in Consumer, Cool, Gadgets, Video, cell phones by max on the January 19th, 2008 at 5:35 pm

Looks like iPhoneCam is coming soon!

Tight… these guys who are working on the iPhoneCam are gonna be at MacWorld, maybe I should get a Media pass tomorrow?

I figured it out: Now we can stream at up to 30 fps. My proof-of-concept is an iPhone app which streams video over Wi-Fi to a video driver component on the Mac. This way, you can use the iPhone’s camera stream in any Mac video program like iChat, Photo Booth or Skype.

Spot the difference

Posted in Audio, Computer, Consumer, Cool, Funny, cell phones, mp3 by david on the January 15th, 2008 at 10:00 am

There is always a great sign that you have made it, that is when everyone tries to imitate them, this has happened to the world famous Apple iPhone. But which one is the real thing?

iPhone fakes

There are some slight and yet subtle features that give it away, and so I should leave it up to you to decide, but I think it the one on the right.

The problem here is why would anyone want to buy a fake iPhone it’s obvious that it is a fake and it is not fooling anyone!

CES 2008 - Get Internet Radio on your iPhone with FlyTunes!!!

FlyTunes brings Internet radio to your iPhone

Wow, check it out, FlyTunes brings you Internet radio to your iPhone! Although I know it will never work on EDGE network 100% fully because the technology sucks (EDGE I mean), this might great thing for all of us once iPhone gets on CDMA.

FlyTunes will be free, so you’ll have to put up with AdSense-like ads in order to use it.

Version 1.0 of the software will be released on January 21 and will work with the iPhone and iPod touch. I’m sure one of us here will try it out when the big day comes.

First signs of the Google Phone - GSM/WiFi Phone runs Google’s new Phone Operating System called Android!

Posted in Computer, Consumer, Cool, Gadgets, Linux, cell phones by max on the January 6th, 2008 at 5:31 pm

First signs of the Google Phone - GSM/WiFi Phone runs Google’s new Phone Operating System called Android!First signs of the Google Phone - GSM/WiFi Phone runs Google’s new Phone Operating System called Android!2

Yes, Google is planning to take over the world with its Phone operating system, Android! As an experienced embedded technologist, this seems like it will blow up not because they have great technology, but they could market it so crazy.

Wistron NeWeb Corp, a Taiwanese company, was selected as a CES Innovations 2008 Award Honoree for their Wireless Handset technology. Offering a full set of applications for creating and editing documents, email (via pull protocols only), PIM, PC sync and web browsing over GSM as well as WiFi and Bluetooth.

Using Google’s Android and offering built-in 128 MB high capacity memory and a memory card slot supporting up to 2GB for greater storage space, the device has a standard Qwerty Keyboard and features a large 2.5” QVGA (240 x 320 pixels) TFT-LCD Display with 262K Colors Touch Screen. The device has software that allows you to take still photos and MPEG4, H.263, and WMA video record and play with the built-in 2M pixels (1600 x 1200) Camera and plays MP3s for music support as well as having voice recording and playback capability.

Looks really cool but is it really any better than my Blackberry or iPhones? Probably not at this point. As cellphone technology is highly competitive, I doubt Google will be able to successively support those phones. Well, in this case, it’s not really a Googlephone since it’s only using Google’s Operating System. But this is probably as close as it gets for now…

FYI, Google’s OS Android is basically a stripped down Linux. (Hail Linux!) That’s one good thing huh?

Android relies on Linux version 2.6 for core system services such as security, memory management, process management, network stack, and driver model. The kernel also acts as an abstraction layer between the hardware and the rest of the software stack.

SiteHoppin - the new search engine for iPhone that let’s you surf faster!

Posted in Consumer, Gadgets, Web, cell phones by max on the January 6th, 2008 at 12:59 am

Tight!

Cool stuff, thanks to guys at planet-iphones.com for posting this! :) You guys rock!

All the the SiteHoppin’ says it’s developed by drunken people, (well it’s true), we didn’t mention the fact that we worked night and day to get this site ready for 2008 working through Christmas and New Years. Yes, call us Scrooge. But we are not rich as scrooge and have to work hard. (Yes, you should work hard too for your dreams! :) )

For 2008, well at least starting from today, we will try to ignore all nay-sayers as it’s really creeping into our good positive mode. (Don’t want to ruin that do we?)

Thanks everyone for the support and blog posts. I think sometimes people get too into the internet.(including myself) It’s just a machine yo, grow up and go play golf once in awhile so you don’t make IT your life! (I will be hitting the links tomorrow for sure!)

Make sure to check my latest swing tips on ProGolferDigest.com, a blog I make blog posts only when I do go out golfin’.

Today, I had the pleasure of driving to my sister’s business, Keetsa.com, an eco-friendly Mattress store. Anyways, since I don’t have an iPhone right now, I borrowed hers to see if you can browse new sites using SiteHoppin.com.

The result? Fantastic! SiteHoppin works perfectly with iPhone. You can now find new sites without typing or clicking much on your iPhone while you are in the bus, bart, airplane, or whereever!

Think about how much time you’d save if you didn’t have to type “zedomax” on Google to find this site. You’d be checking out new interesting sites in a flash!
