Magic Message Mirror for Home Security!

Check out this cool Magic Message MIrror that will hook up to your existing home security system to provide you with automated messages from the Magic Man in the mirror.

During idle mode, the Magic Mirror is just a regular mirror as shown above.

During message mode, a funny man will appear in the mirror to let you know about what kind of security breaches have been going on with option to play security videos/cameras.

The patented “Magic Message Mirror” looks and functions like a decorative wall mirror, but when your home automation/security system senses a change in your environment, “Basil of the Mirror” (a somewhat pompous English Butler personality) magically appears and verbally provides real-time information. The M30P will also theatrically reveal an integrated live camera feed to show the area of interest, if you have cameras incorporated into your home security system, or decide to add them when you install the M30P.

DIY Homemade Submarine made from Metal Barrels!

DIY Homemade Submarine by a Chinese Person!

Remember they Chinese guy who made the helicopter? Well, here’s another Chinese guy who made a freakin’ submarine out of old metal barrels.

Talk about eco-friendly, this submarine probably is the most green submarine ever made.

Way cool huh?

I am gonna go make mine too now and start a new business.

Tao Xiangli made the 1.6 tonnes submarine mostly from metal barrels and improvised parts by hand, reports Zhong’an Online.

“Metal barrels are possibly the best material for me because of their low cost,” said Tao, a migrant worker in Beijing.

The 20ft submarine is cramped inside with room for only one person but it features pressure metres, monitoring cameras, a TV set, oxygen supply and headlights.

Volkswagon 235MPG Car available in 2010!

Volkswagon 235MPG Car available in 2010!

This VW can do 235MPG! It’s really small and cramped but hey, the VeeDub gets almost 5 times better mileage than my motorcycle.

The 1L is a lightweight two person vehicle made out of a magnesium frame covered by an unpainted carbon fiber skin. Every component of the vehicle is intended to reduce the vehicles weight. Aluminum brakes, carbon fiber wheels, titanium hubs, and ceramic bearings all contribute to the vehicle’s light weight of a mere 290 kg. To reduce the weight even further, and to increase the aerodynamics of the vehicle, there are no rear view mirrors. Instead, the car is equipped with cameras that display visual information to the driver via the internal LCD screen.

PressLite for Photographers!

Wow, check out this revolutionary flash for cameras!

Its two panels let you reflect just the amount of light you need, bouncing part of it off the ceiling for that soft, indirect look, while aiming the rest of the light at your subject. That’s just one of many possibilities. It’s also easy to use, moving it to exactly the right configuration with one hand, keeping the other free to hold the camera, aim and shoot. Considering what it can do, PressLite VerteX is dirt-cheap at $34.95.

Driving Hack - How to tell Where the Speedtraps are and download them to your GPS!

Driving Hack - How to tell Where the Speedtraps are and download them to your GPS!

Wow, now you can use njection.com to find out where the speed camera traps are. Since I live in San Francisco and there are so many speed traps everywhere, I did a search for my zip code and that’s what you see in the above screenshot. Pretty accurate too as I can verify some of the speed traps from back of my head.

You can also download this information to your GPS device, how cool is that?

Hopefully less tickets for you and you come back to Zedomax for more… :p

Shannon Atkinson launched Njection.com as a place for gearheads to shoot the breeze about anything and everything auto-related. It wasn’t long before he sensed a theme in the posts. “One of the biggest topics on the site became speed traps and cameras,” Atkinson told us. “People want to know about those whether they’re a truck driver, a road warrior or just someone who wants to drive without worrying about it.”

So Atkinson added Speedtrap, a feature that combines drivers’ tips with Microsoft Virtual Earth to identify speed traps - either a real, live cop with a radar gun or one of those damned cameras - throughout the U.S. There’s even a few foreign cities, such as London, Toronto and Rome.

Now, the information can be downloaded directly to portable navigation devices from Garmin, Mio, TomTom and others via Njection.com so that drivers can pinpoint speed traps on a given route. Atkinson says the identity of Njection’s many speed-trap tipsters is kept confidential, and they include more than a few police officers who like the site because what “they’re mostly interested in is getting people to drive safely.”
