![]()
Zedomax.com has right now 3,532 posts since it’s humble beginnings on August 14th, 2006.
Well, that’s a lot of blogging…plus 14,139 tags!
Cheers to all our readers and we shall be moving even a little faster this week.
Please don’t complain because our blog goes too fast and we explain things in 1 sentences instead of cramming with needless adjectives and verbs.
Blogging in the Wild…
I always thought of what’d be like to be camping and blogging at the same time.
Well, here’s a video by Joel Johnson from BoingBoingTV showing you how it could be done…
Boing Boing Gadgets editor Joel Johnson recently spent a week in the woods with a backpack full of electronics, to see if he could work on the internet in the wild using only solar power and his bare hands. This video reveals to the world, for the very first time, what happened to all those bears.
Watch “Live” Masters Golf Tournament this weekend on the web!

Hey, now you can watch Master live on your TV. Since I am always busy blogging even on weekends, this allows me to flip back and forth between blogging and the Masters. Even better is if you have dual monitor setup.
I used to record every Masters couple years back, actually I did record every Masters from around ‘95 to ‘03 or so…
Cheers everybody, you should be watching golf on TV today even if you are not a raving golf fan like i am.
World Record - John Chow is the Blogging Seinfeld? He makes money making fun of the internet!

As you well know, my blogger friend John Chow was on Entrepreneur this month! He’s coined as the “Blogging Seinfeld”. I couldn’t agree more. There’s a lot of people saying how John Chow is a spam blog but I disagree with that. He made a new blogging topic, “Making Money Online” so explosive that now you see thousands of blogs like John Chow’s.
If it wasn’t for his blog, I doubt there would be such an enormous “buzz” around the internet about making money online with blogs.
Well, I honestly think there’s still a lot of money to be made on the internet.
This will probably keep growing for another 20 years, especially in the US, where it’s hard to find a job fresh out of college. I bet job hiring rate is a lot higher in India.
Not that I am complaining since I am “jobless and broke”. But I am figuring my way around the internet like John by selling off some of my websites steadily and taking on some random jobs. If you wanna help me from going bankrupt and live on the streets, go check out SiteHoppin.
Anyways, congrats to John Chow for gettin’ on Entrepreneur!
(p.s. I have an advertisement on John Chow for SiteHoppin, I hope this article boosts John’s blog traffic.
)
Here’s a little video of my February edition of Entrepreneur, do you have a copy yet?
Zedomax Traffic Overview 2008

This is a little traffic overview so we know where the heck Zedomax will be next year… Well, it looks pretty good doesn’t it? Since last July or so, our traffic has been growing steadily and we have no idea how we did it. Well, one thing that might have helped is that we started blocking all trackbacks from splogs. Before July last year, I didn’t even know what a “splog” is but now I do… Anyways, we will actually be starting to do some real work instead of messing around all the time.
Here’s another tip for any bloggers that might help:
Try to post 30+ posts per day. The more posts you post, the more search terms you will get back from Google couple months down the road. Of course, you could do 1 post per day with details but I simply prefer to do “speed-blogging“, which is basically trying to find the best new tech stuff as fast as possible as post them as quickly as you can.
You see, what I’ve realized with Google is that they rank you higher if you are one of the first to talk about it. People talk about the algorithm but I think algorithm serves as foundation for Google but they have “hidden algorithms” you can predict only by experience.
Here’s the proof. When Google announced their Knol Project, I quickly made bunch of posts about it and Zedomax is still on the first page on Google for the term “Knol Project” AND “Knols Project‘. (Heck, I am even trying to sell knolproject.net back to Google for $100K! Not that they’d buy it but I figure I’d make some funny blog soon on it…)
I am not a SEO expert by any means other than I try to hack anything more than anyone else. Proof?
I tried to hack Digg couple years ago, the only way Digg could deal with me is to bann me but THAT was a lot of fun. But I did get to be the fastest Digger in the world which is awesome!
I did hack StumbleUpon couple years ago too, they didn’t ban me but my account is really really slow and it’s weird so I don’t use it anymore. The weird thing is, I don’t even use it anymore and I am ranked #4 for most pages stumbled out of those millions of people using it! (The true reason StumbleUpon didn’t ban me was because my hacks were actually boosting their web traffic! StumbleUpon has lots of loopholes for hackers but that’s why they grow because hackers promote their website!)
Now I got tired of hacking sites so I made a my own social networking site, SiteHoppin.com. I think I’ve learned enough from hacking other major sites so I am going to try to implement security measures used during those periods.
The greatest part about hacking another website is that you realize how to protect your own website. FBI probably hires more hackers to protect their data than kids out of college.
Technology can be so fragile these days. I remember fighting so many hackers that tried to do a group DoS (Denial of Service) attack from Poland and Korea. Those hackers are real good but too bad, they are not coming back anymore. (I enjoy fighting hackers, it’s really fun…)

Remember playing Starcraft couple years ago? (Well, I guess some of you are still playing it)
Well, here’s a video of the Starcraft 2 preview.

I can’t wait to get my hands on this game…you will probably not see me blogging for a month…or more…

6:19AM Update - I have been blogging for almost 24 hours straight and just finished making a website for one of my friends that I met on the elevator. (Yes, it’s called the elevator incident, he even sang about it.)
He’s my neighbor and sings whenever we hang out and get fu**ed up…
Check it out:

P.S. Yes, this was shameless friend promotion… :p
The Top 10 Reasons why you need a Blog vs. static website
Here’s my top 10 reasons why you need blog(s) if you want to succeed online:
- Blogs can be updated hourly, daily, or any time you want to update your site.
- Each post on a Blog has tags in comparison
- Target keywords for your products. (For example, you can make a new post with title, description, and tags targeted at your keywords such as “iphone hacks”)
- Blogs are the next communication medium on the internet.
- It’s never too late to make a blog
- You can give out stuff for free that you get for free. (e.g. Our lasers were provided free from DragonLasers and we are giving them out FREE!)
- There are so many pages in a blog including the index page, each individual posts, each individual catalogs, and each invidual tags. Blogs are keyword magnets to Google’s SEO.
- Blogging is fun.
- Bloggers rule.
- A lot of hollywood stars have blogs…(you can too!)
- Get digged and get some traffic to your site…
Zedomax is 1 years OLD!!!

Hey! We are 1 years old now! (Well, yesterday was the birthdate, August 14th but I got too drunk with some MGDs and I had a hangover from the night before so don’t blame me) You see that little blip we had couple weeks ago? Yeah, our site was down and yes I was too drunk. (haha, I was just kiddin’, I just forgot to pay bills)
Anyway, we did reach more than 1 million unique visitors over 1 year so that is good…
Well, I am going to start drinking more and blogging more along with our good friend David from UK. I just moved to a ocean-view apartment on 12th floor of Sunset district in San Francisco. (I HAD to say that… well don’t worry I’ve got about 20K in debt so… I really need to attend the “bad-spending-habit” class if there is one…)
Anyway, we want to thank ALL our friends!!!
P.S. Hopefully, next year, we have reached 10 million visitors!!! (Then I can goto Hawaii and blog from the beach for sure…)
P.S.2 I think we are going to open a forum for more activity… what do you think?
Our plan is to sell more information, hacks for FREE!!! So come and check out zedomax often for hacks and more ways to be smarter and crafty than the guy next to you.
