Spot the difference

Posted in Audio, Computer, Consumer, Cool, Funny, cell phones, mp3 by david on the January 15th, 2008 at 10:00 am

There is always a great sign that you have made it, that is when everyone tries to imitate them, this has happened to the world famous Apple iPhone. But which one is the real thing?

iPhone fakes

There are some slight and yet subtle features that give it away, and so I should leave it up to you to decide, but I think it the one on the right.

The problem here is why would anyone want to buy a fake iPhone it’s obvious that it is a fake and it is not fooling anyone!

Music player holder with a sting

Posted in Audio, Consumer, Cool, Funny, Gadgets, Music, mp3 by david on the January 13th, 2008 at 7:00 am

This is the latest idea for self preservation, while listening to your favourite piece of music!

taser

The C2 is a taser and music player combo; it comes with a nice case and delivers some sort of body numbing electric shock which not much is actually mentioned about, so it is hard to tell how bad the shock will be.

CES 2008 - Get Internet Radio on your iPhone with FlyTunes!!!

FlyTunes brings Internet radio to your iPhone

Wow, check it out, FlyTunes brings you Internet radio to your iPhone! Although I know it will never work on EDGE network 100% fully because the technology sucks (EDGE I mean), this might great thing for all of us once iPhone gets on CDMA.

FlyTunes will be free, so you’ll have to put up with AdSense-like ads in order to use it.

Version 1.0 of the software will be released on January 21 and will work with the iPhone and iPod touch. I’m sure one of us here will try it out when the big day comes.

Biz cards dial home

Posted in Advertising, Art, Audio, Business, Business Ideas, Entrepreneurs, Gadgets by david on the January 7th, 2008 at 8:00 am

This is a really great idea where you have a traditional business card along with such electronic gadgetry to make it into a nice little auto dialler for the customer.

biz cards

All that the customer has to do is place the card next to the phone and it will call up your office or the dedicated number which is a great bit of technology and practical.

Priced at around $2 each

DIY iPod HACK - Add Bluetooth to your iPod!!!

Posted in Audio, Circuits, Consumer, Cool, DoItYourself!, Gadgets, Hack, iPod, mp3 by max on the January 6th, 2008 at 3:55 pm

Add Bluetooth to your iPod

Tight, here’s some cool hacks on adding bluetooth to your iPod!

1st Ever Bluetooth-Enabled iPod!

If you’re like me, you’ve often asked yourself why Apple has not added native Bluetooth capability to their iPod line up. Even the iPhone only supports mono Bluetooth!

Sure, there are numerous adapters that plug into the iPod’s dock connector to give you wireless music, but they are clunky, they come off easily, can’t use them with your case and you have to charge them separately!

So, here is my way to add “native” internal Bluetooth support to your 4G iPod. The same method may be used with other iPod versions, I leave that up to you.

Live coverage from Sony’s CES press conference at Engadget

Live coverage from Sony’s CES press conference at Engadget

The greatest part about NOT going to CES this year? I get to sit on my butt and read all these tech blog write about them. Well, it’s good that I am acting sorta as a “human filter” to filter out all the crappy stuff and post the best on Zedomax.

Anyways, you can get a really good overview of Sony’s CES press conference over at Engadget. I think this is one of the longest Engadget posts I’ve seen in awhile.

Here’s an excerpt from the blog post:

4:53PM - Talking about the exit from microprojection, and focusing on flat-panel. “According to NPD, Sony was the leader in market leader in dollars and units — even with the highest average selling price.” Wait, is this guy calling his customers suckers? Two new models: 40 and 46-inch, as well as the 32 and 37-inch 1080p models with DMex. “Ten of these new sets will be full HD 1080p — which as you’ll remember Sony created and popularized years ago.” No, Sony, no. You didn’t “invent” 1080p HDTV. Nice try.

I agree, Sony does suck at trying to sell itself…

Star shaped hub shares music

Posted in Audio, Batteries, Cool, Entertainment, Funny, Music, mp3 by david on the January 4th, 2008 at 12:00 pm

Another great idea from Belkin, this device plugs into one mp3 player and another five can be lugged into the same device allowing everyone to hear the same music.

music share

This is a great little device which will provide a great way of sharing music, but without all of the hassle. It could become one the latest crazes around because it has all what is needed, music, mixes, and sharing.

Priced $20

The hi-tech underwater mask

Posted in Audio, Batteries, Cameras, Consumer, Gadgets, USB by david on the January 3rd, 2008 at 6:00 am

Going under sea diving just got a lot more complicated with the introduction of the Liquid Image Digital Underwater Camera Mask.

underwater specs

It may seem highly complicated but if you are an experienced diver, this could be the device that takes your diving to the next level. It is available in different versions, adult and teen sizes and will allow the diver to take photos and video which are then transferred to the computer via the USB link.

Prices start at around $100.

Batteries become next WMD

Posted in Audio, Batteries, Consumer, Flying, Gadgets, mp3 by david on the December 31st, 2007 at 10:00 am

As from tomorrow there is no point trying to get on a plane when in possession of lithium battery in a plastic casing.

batteries

If the batteries are new as if they are in the original packaging then they can be taken, but other than that, no lithium batteries will be allowed on a plane.
