How Harmonicas are made!

How Harmonicas are made!

How Harmonicas are made!2

I, myself, used to play a lot with Harmonicas. Well, remember our post about HarmoNESca couple days ago?

Well, here’s some cool explanation on how Harmonicas are actually made and the workings.

The harmonica, or mouth organ, is a hand-held rectangular musical instrument. As the musician inhales and exhales into evenly spaced air channels, the metal reeds within produce musical tones. The length and thickness of the reed determines the note that is heard. Descended from the Jew’s harp and Chinese sheng of ancient times, the harmonica has engendered various nicknames, including blues harp, pocket piano and Mississippi saxophone. Since its beginnings in the early 1800s, the harmonica has been used in variety of musical forms, from classical to folk to country to rock to blues to jazz.

Looks like it’s some type of microcontroller with bunch of replays… Looks pretty simple to build… (the controls i mean)

“Volumen”, a giant graphic equalizer built by Argentinian artist, Sergio Avello relays the ambient urban noise levels around the Redgaleria in Buenos Aires. Pretty intense way of visualizing the constant buzz of the city, plus nice shots of the internal circuits at the below link.

Go check out iBand and download these free apps.

Moreover we’re exclusively using a new drumming application by Marc Terry (MooCowMusic) as Alpha testers. And made an own iPhone ad remake, accompanied by iBand music, and much to our delight it gets really close to the original

iPhone, iPod Touch, now iStick? Should it stick or not?

iPhone, iPod Touch, now iStick? Should it stick or not?

iPhone, iPod Touch, now iStick? Should it stick or not?

Here’s an interesting concept design for iStick, which is basically box sized version of the iPhone. I am not sure if I will need this, it looks it’s real fragile with displays on the four sides. Neverthless, koodos to designer Alexei Mikhailov for great looking design.

Designer Alexei Mikhailov isn’t out to convince people his iStick concept is the perfect mobile convergence device. In fact he clearly points out the iStick isn’t for viewing movies and the screen is too small for effective photo viewing. What it does have is a visual replication of the iPhone/Touch space inside a device the size of a lipstick tube.

They say that if you are on a desert island for so long, you will be able to make almost anything out of coconuts and here is the proof.

This is a really cool coconut amp, and in fact if you can make this then you are on your way to building up a civilisation.

Of course what they should have done is place a sim card in it and then it could be used as real communicator.

iPod Disguise!

Lol… check out how you can make your iPod look like an old school Sony Walkman. Clever but I will stick with my iPod w/o any disguise and stick to my guns.
