Heat Resistant Lego Lamp!

Heat Resistant Lego Lamp!

Check out this neat lamp you can rearrange to fit your home design with special heat-treated lego blocks.

The block light is an amazing light that lets you change its appearance to anything you like. The limitation is only that of your imagination, so it’s a perfect item for anyone that considers themselves a bit arty. For example, our main picture depicts, ‘the struggle of an ancient pyramid builder and his battle with verigo through the medium of lego’!

Check out this cool Stonehedge robotic clock.  It’s really something when you use the latest technology to re-make something old as the stonehedge. - Link to Norris Labs the creator

Stonehenge uses a CrustCrawler Smart Arm and a Parallax Propeller chip to display the current time. All the digits needed to display the time are located on cards positioned in a semi-circle around the left and right sides of the arm. The time itself is displayed in front of the arm. This gives the clock a “Stonehenge” like appearance. There are a total of 14 cards. Each card has two digits with one on each side. The software planner determines which card and which side is needed to display the time and then sends the necessary movement commands to the arm.

“Periodic Table” Coffee Table

Posted in Chemistry, Consumer, Cool, Design, Educational, Furniture, Gadgets, science by max on the July 24th, 2008 at 8:31 pm

\"Periodic Table\" Coffee Table

This beautiful Coffee Table embeds a whole Periodic Table” for those of you who simply can’t get enough with the table in your head alone.

Close-up pics reveal that the table itself doesn’t define what the element is, rather a sample of each element is buried inside as solid block of acrylic.

(The only question I have is, does the table also come with radioactive elements too?)

By embedding all element samples in clear acrylic, they are beautifully presented and also protected from tarnishing. This format also helps to addresses health and safety issues, as all potentially toxic or corrosive substances are permanently encased in a thick layer of robust resin. Argon gas and mineral oil is further used to ampoule reactive samples and preserve their freshly cut appearance. Individual acrylic blocks are available for sale, although read the shipping section carefully as some elements are costly to send internationally.

The time capsule DVD left on Mars for future Martians

Posted in Consumer, Funny, Gadgets, Stupid by max on the May 28th, 2008 at 2:16 pm

Lol, special silica-gel DVD (that lasts up to years) has been left on mars for future Martians to pick it up and load it onto their PCs… Who’s working at NASA? Where is my tax money going to? Some dumb folks?

Okay, that was kinda pointless to assume an alien could understand DVDs.

The disc - being described as the first interplanetary library - is made of a special silica glass designed to last hundred, if not thousands, of years into the future.

It also holds a collection of Mars-themed artwork, including a poster from a 1936 Flash Gordon film Mars Attacks the World and Orson Welles’s 1938 radio broadcast of War of the Worlds. Patrick Stewart as Star Trek’s Captain Picard also makes an appearance on the DVD.

The idea is to give future Martians a snapshot of how they were viewed on Earth - though, considering some of the content, it may not be met with the most favourable reception.

Holographic Appearance by Bill Gates in Malaysia!

Posted in Business, Consumer, Cool, Entertainment, Shows by max on the May 20th, 2008 at 10:10 pm

Holographic Appearance by Bill Gates in Malaysia!

Bill Gates made a “holographic appearance” in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia at World Congress on Information Technology 2008.

Perhaps, he’s trying this new method after being pancaked once and Steve Ballmer being egged the other day.

Neverthless, kudos to Gates for trying something new without having to travel.

KUALA LUMPUR: Bill Gates, chairman of software powerhouse Microsoft Corp, made a five-minute virtual appearance at the World Congress on Information Technology 2008 here.

A 4.6m holographic projection of the billionaire enthralled the 400-strong audience at the congress yesterday at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.

The image was shot in high definition and projected onto plastic foil which was stretched out in the centre’s Plenary Hall.

The result was life-like and impressive and the crowd applauded the effort.

Wow, check out this “swiss made” all mechanical “digital” watch! It’s a thing of beauty, ain’t it?

Of course, it’s truly and strictly a mechanical watch that can act like a digital watch in reality. I wanna get one!

Looking at this limited-edition Di Grisogono Meccanica DG, you probably think it’s a hybrid mechanical-digital watch. Well, chaps, you’re wrong. Despite its appearance, the Meccanica DG is completely analog, comprising of 651 pieces and absolutely no digital parts or LEDs whatsoever.

Visualeyes launches Rayzer - another set of Headlights that go on the rear-view mirror.

Posted in Auto, Consumer, Cool, Gadgets by max on the December 15th, 2007 at 10:24 pm

Visualeyes launches Rayzer!

Check out this nifty light for your car. Basically it goes behind your rear-view mirror, allowing more lights I guess… We haven’t figured out if this is a hit product yet but seems pretty cool for those dark curvy mountain roads for your next camping trip up to Tahoe. Will they send us a sample? (maybe I can put it on my TrailBlazer and find out if it works under rugged conditions and race-car style driving…lol…)

No exterior modifications needed on car!

In contrast to conventional auxiliary lights, Rayzer is positioned inside the car. The combination of the positioning, the HID (Xenon) lighting technology and the design sets it apart from anything else in the global market.

Rayzer solves a long list of problems associated with traditional auxiliary lights, such as theft, poor light quality, damage from stones and parking accidents.

The positioning at or above the driver%u2019s line of vision, produces better illumination. Plus, the fact that Rayzer will not disturb your car%u2019s appearance and aerodynamics.

Flower like lampshade

Posted in Consumer, Contest, Funny by david on the September 7th, 2007 at 8:00 am

This lamp shade has the appearance of a flower, it closes into a tight bud when the light is needed but only a low amount, but when full light is required it can opened like a flower would when the sun comes up.

flower lamp

This is a great novelty item, which has a practical purpose. There are a lot of children who like to have their lights on at night, but then they just cannot get to sleep because of how bright it is. But as this one closes down the light is reduced and so the children can get a good nights sleep.
