Design - iSleep Pillow uses Laptop Vents to give you soft naps!

Posted in Consumer, Cool, Design, Educational, Entertainment, Gadgets, USB, health by max on the October 6th, 2008 at 3:10 pm

Here’s a fun design for a USB Pillow iSleep, it uses the Laptop fan vents to inflate itself.

This might be a good way to sleep on the job but then again, I rather stick to my Keetsa Eco-Friendly hybrid memory form/spring bed that gives me a real rest.

This painfull experience will now stop! Now there is i -sleep, a comfortable soft pillow which can be attached on the top of each leptop and functiones like a rescue west in an airplane - with the difference…it really saves us. If we tend to fall asleep, we just close our laptop, a pillow gets filled with warm air, music is being played and after 10 minutes the alarm clock rings. Bonne nuit!

MotoPod is a Motorcycle Stash for your Personal Airplane!

MotoPod is a Motorcycle Stash for your Personal Airplane!

Perhaps, this MotoPod will let more people with personal airplanes to get around town easier by letting them stash their favorite dirt bike/motorcycle under the plane.

…basically a cargo pod that allows you to carry a street-legal motorcycle underneath your plane.
The motorcycle is a Yamaha XT225 which was selected because it was both economical and lightweight, and overall the pod and bike add about 500 pounds to an aircraft’s total weight. (Resulting in an airspeed cut of about 9 knots.) The bike does require a bit of assembly before it can be ridden, but the pod is easily lowered with a built-in powered winch and you can apparently be on the road just minutes after landing. The MotoPOD is expected to go on sale later this year with a price tag below $10,000 (including the motorcycle) but you can reserve one now for a fully-refundable $1,000.

Video of A380 Airplane Taking Off

Posted in Consumer, Cool, Educational, Entertainment, Flying, Gadgets, Industrial, Travel, Video by max on the August 6th, 2008 at 12:10 pm

Here’s a cool video of the A380 taking off. (See this post for what an A380 looks like inside)

I can’t wait to get a seat in one of these airplanes.

The cam feed can be shown on the seat-back displays and gives you an almost Superman-like view of the aircraft from 79-feet up at the top of the tail. It’s pretty amazing watching the behemoth aircraft surge slowly down the runway and into the air… and there’s another vid, showing it landing in to SFO as part of the recent Emirates tour.

Radio Controlled Stingray gives you sting for buck!

Radio Controlled Stingray gives you sting for buck!

This RC stingray has to be one of the most innovative yet disturbing radio controlled toys ever.

Heck, it doesn’t even look like a stingray to me, maybe a badly designed airplane with its wings shoved up its butt.

Today, I had the pleasure of driving to my sister’s business, Keetsa.com, an eco-friendly Mattress store. Anyways, since I don’t have an iPhone right now, I borrowed hers to see if you can browse new sites using SiteHoppin.com.

The result? Fantastic! SiteHoppin works perfectly with iPhone. You can now find new sites without typing or clicking much on your iPhone while you are in the bus, bart, airplane, or whereever!

Think about how much time you’d save if you didn’t have to type “zedomax” on Google to find this site. You’d be checking out new interesting sites in a flash!

Fly away powered by USB

Posted in Consumer, Cool, Funny, Gadgets, USB by david on the September 7th, 2007 at 10:00 am

This airplane is idea for the stuffy office or study. It plugs into the usb port of your computer and can then be turned on.

usb plane

Unfortunately it does not take off, but is a really nice fan that can deliver a nice cool breeze for when the AC packs in, or maybe you just need a nice bit if cooling down, when the heat gets just too much to bear.

No pricing details or availability as of yet, maybe later.

DIY HACK - Supercharged Airplane

Posted in Circuits, Consumer, Cool, DoItYourself!, Educational, Entertainment, Gadgets, Hack, Projects, Travel by max on the May 14th, 2007 at 6:54 am

DIY - Supercharged Airplane

Check out this cool supercharged airplane you can make in your free time!

The single-sheet paper airplanes you made when you were a kid (or perhaps last week in your cubicle) were, well, kid stuff compared to this beefed-up paper craft, which uses an electric motor from an old pager or toy powered by a big electrolytic capacitor. Known as a “Gold Cap” and made by Panasonic, the capacitor charges from a battery pack and then metes out a steady flow of power to keep your propeller whirring for about 10 seconds—just long enough to send the flyer airborne and carry it between 30 and 100 feet.
