Google Chrome Tips - Dev and Beta Channel Introduced!

Posted in A+Featured Hacks, Consumer, Cool, DoItYourself!, Educational, Google, Google Chrome, HOWTO, Hack, browser by max on the September 19th, 2008 at 10:58 am

In case you don’t know, there’s a program you can download that will let your Google Chrome Browser be updated with the “Dev” mode, which gets you updates as soon as they are available. In the “Beta” normal mode, updates will be delayed until they are considered “stable”.

Subscribing to the Dev channel

1. Download and run the Google Chrome Channel Chooser (http://chromium.googlecode.com/files/chromechannel-1.0.exe).
2. Click the circle next to Dev.
3. Click Update to save your choice.
4. Click Close.
5. In Google Chrome, click the wrench menu and choose About Google Chrome.
Note: On Windows Vista, updates from the About box require Service Pack 1. With 0.2.149.29 (the current release), on demand updates do not work in Vista SP1 if User Account Control is disabled.
6. Click Update Now to install the current Dev channel release.
7. Restart Google Chrome.

Google Chrome Hacks Blog Launched!

Google Chrome Hacks Blog Launched!

Google Chrome Hacks Blog Launched!

Google Chrome Hacks Blog was launched today.

We had to settle on Chrome-hacks.net although we wanted to get Chromehacks.com.

We will be doing a lot of posts on the latest tips, hacks, and other news just for the Google Chrome browser so make sure to subscribe to RSS feed.

For the mother of God and for whatever reason, we just launched another new blog, of course it’s called Google Chrome Hacks Blog.

Basically, the blog will cover all kinds of tips, hacks, and news about the new Google Chrome Browser.

It took us exactly 2 hours to sign up for a domain name at godaddy, stuff it with Wordpress plugins and themes, write 5 blog posts.  (Not too bad of a start ey?)

New blogs are always great opportunities to pounce on, especially if it’s new technology.

Where did we get the idea for Google Chrome Hacks Blog?

Well, you should take a looky at iphone-hacks.com and their stats.  (It’s like they simply took a knife and stuck it on a whale before the it leaped)

For how to make money blogging, make sure to check out our Adsense Optimization Blog.

Google Chrome EULA in question?

Posted in A+Featured Web, Consumer, Google, Google Chrome, Web by max on the September 3rd, 2008 at 2:55 pm
Google Chrome EULA in question?

Google Chrome EULA in question?

Google Chrome EULA has been confusing some of the bloggers recently, check out what the fuss is about at Zedomax.Net.

In a recent post over at Gizmodo about the Google Chrome’s End User License Agreement (EULA), Google supposedly owns everything that you “do” on the Google Chrome.

Of course, we think that the EULA was just worded vaguely but probably didn’t mean to mean that Google is going to own everything you do on the Google Chrome browser.

Google Chrome Logo and Simon are Distant Relatives!

Google Chrome Logo and Simon are Distant Relatives!

Google Chrome Logo and Simon are Distant Relatives!

Simon is a long pastime of Americans, a memory game which has been popular in the 80s and the 90s.

Although we agree that Google Chrome’s logo does remind us of the Simon, there’s a clear difference in that the Google Chrome logo has 3 buttons on the outside whereas the Simon has 4.  Of course, you can use the center button but still, they are “distant” relatives in our opinion and I am sure the logo designers didn’t whoop out a Simon just to make the logo.

Blackberry Bold Browser Video Demo!

Posted in Blackberry, Consumer, Cool, Gadgets, Web, browser, cell phones by max on the August 21st, 2008 at 11:25 am

Here’s a video demo of the new Blackberry Bold. It looks pretty good, I think you need to install Opera Mini take advantage of the Blackberry though.

Something we should point out as well is that when using Internet Explorer or Firefox browser emulation, a lot of sites don’t load and it gives an error, even over 3G or Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi was turned off for the first part of the video, and then later turned on. What do you think of the browser now that you’ve seen it in action?
