The USB Pizza Drive!

As a former Pizza Hut employee (over 10 years ago), I can appreciate the USB Pizza drive.  But I want a pepperoni pizza, not the weird looking beef and green pizza!

    USB Flash Stick!

I don’t know if a USB flash stick is practical but it’s funny as hell.

For one, I like the natural look of the wood clothespin in contrast to the shiny metal of the USB connection. The other more obvious benefit is that it can be easily attached to anything like a shirt pocket, making it harder to lose when its not in use.

DIY - How to Make a USB Wooden Drive out of a Cruzer USB!

DIY - How to Make a USB Wooden Drive out of a Cruzer USB!

I admit to having a cruzer 4GB USB drive in which I store all my website data including the tar files and the sql files.

Here’s a great DIY on how to turn your cruzer USB(or any other USB) into a super-protective wooden USB that you can drop from 13th floor and still recover your data.

Everybody has a jump drive nowadays, and there are a multitude of jump drive mods on the internet and here at Instructables. But this one is made of wood! lol. I started this project to fix my jump drive after the plastic case broke (don’t ask…), but quickly found out that the process is simple, quick, and the finished product is unique and satisfying. So without further ado, I would like to share with you the steps I used to make a nice wooden shell for my jump drive.

DIY USB Sound Card needs no XP drivers!

Posted in Audio, Circuits, Computer, Consumer, Cool, DoItYourself!, Gadgets, Music, Projects, USB by max on the May 19th, 2008 at 1:50 pm

DIY USB Sound Card needs no XP drivers!

Here’s a great USB DIY Sound Card that NEEDS NO XP drivers. It’s plug-N-play. For a DIY project, very impressive and everyone should make their USB DIY “driver-less”.

Make a sound card is no more a complex issue. If you use great IC PCM2702 from BURR BROWN / Texas Instruments you can create a fully functional USB sound card. This sound card can be powered from USB port and has one stereo output. You dont need to install any driver for Windows XP and Vista, because they are already inside. This is really plug and play.

Few months ago I have seen USB sound card called Alien DAC. The construction on the project web page inspired me to build this thing also.

DIY - How to build your own Tengu!

Above is a picture of Tengu, it’s basically a LED display that syncs to voice and music.  You can buy one but I guess these guys over at Tinkerlog have made their own ‘DIY’ version Tangu.

This is a new version of my Tengu clone. This time on a printed circuit board (PCB). I have them produced by Olimex and I am very pleased with the quality. The PCB worked on the first try and has some minor issues only.
