DIY - Electric Kawasaki Motorcycle goes 40mph and 15 mile range!

My love for motorcycles are always there so I couldn’t help post this Kawasaki motorcycle converted into an eletric bike that does 40mph and goes about 15 miles on a full charge. Of course, I wouldn’t dare or probably can do any wheelies or what not, but props for the DIY.
“I bought an 8hp Briggs & Stratton ETEK motor used through Craigslist. Then I mounted the motor to the frame using the existing engine mounting holes and a piece of scrap aluminum plate. I found a sprocket and chain in the tractor repair isle of the farm store.” Ben Nelson’s approach couldn’t be described as high-tech, but it is effective. This electric Kawasaki is now his primary transportation.
One of a growing number of Ecomodders — people who customize for economy, rather than speed — Ben knows why it makes sense to go for plug-in over petrol. “If gas is three bucks a gallon, I can go 300 miles on that same amount of electricity. 300mpg isn’t too bad for a motorcycle, is it?”

DIY HACK - How to make your own open source motor controller!
Check out this cool little hack, it’s an open-source motor controller for an electric bike. There’s no pictures of a finished version but can’t wait to see this circuit in action!
n brief the PicOx is a PicAxe 08M based digital Controller that performs an ADC of a Hall-effect throttle and an ADC of a Hall-based current sensor. These two parameters determine the “Mark” value of a 15Khz PWM signal that does the switching to the Output stage. At the end of the project the Controller can sustain 48V @ 75 Amps repeatedly for approx 5 second bursts and is really only limited by the In-Line breaker that cuts the supply voltage, though the entire system’s overall design objective is met reliably at 48V 50Amp operation…
Virgin Galatic, 3 Hour Space Travel, ready for reservations, can you afford it?

I first saw an article about Virgin’s Richard Branson on Wired magazine couple months ago. Virgin announced that it was launching a public service where people can experience zero-gravity.
Basically, Virgin is taking space travel into reality for normal people like you and me.
Anyways, I was SiteHoppin’ along for some random Entrecard tech blogs and found a blog post that now you can go make your reservations.
How much does it cost?
Flights require three days of training and cost 200k with a 20k deposit.
Wow, it sounds like a lot of fun, especially if you get to be weightless.
What do you get?
The Mother Ship known as Space Ship Two ( 2nd version of spaceship ) flies to an altitude of about 50,000 feet and disconnects a separate space ship. This rocket ship fires up and shoots into outer space at about 360,000 feet, for the ride of your life. Passengers will experience 3 to 4 g’s during the initial launch into space. The zero gravity environment is said to last about 5 minutes before its decent back to earth. The whole trip takes about 2 1/2 hours.
Although the whole trip only lasts about two and half hours, if you got money to burn, this might be better than most “earthy” experiences such as skydiving, snowboarding, etc…etc… If you are interested, go get a spot for your first space travel here.

Lol…here’s how you can turn your family van into a racing Jet Powered Van!
So you thought that driving a van was not cool? Think again, with this van when someone gives you a dirty look all you need to do is flip a switch to open the rear window and slide the two massive jet turbine exhaust ports out. Crank up the jet turbine and burn everything behind you! On the track it can do 1/8th mile in 7.65 seconds at 96 mph. Not bad for a vehicle that looks like the family van in the driveway.

B52 ejector seat chair
This is for real fly boy people who love aircraft and in particular those that would have taken part in a third world war if there ever was anything like it.

It does not look like it is going to be the most comfortable chair in the world, but then again the air force boy spent hours in these chairs so there must have been an element of comfort there.

Flying around
If you like to fool around with people’s minds, then this is what you need to get and fast before they fly away!

These flies look as if they are eating your hand away, but in fact are rings that slip over your finger and look very much like the real thing. There are loads of applications that this could be used for; they are especially good when you are serving up food!
