Porsche 928 with Jet Engine!

Porsche 928 with Jet Engine!

Porsche 928s are one of my favorite classic Porsches if it’s not “the” favorite. I’d trade a brand new Porsche for a brand new 928 any day.

Why?

Well, Porsche 928s are the only “rear-wheeled” porsches and comes with a big fat V8 engine unlike the other twin-turbo Porsches.

Aside from the rear drive power, I do like the fact that these Porsches have a unique look unlike all the other Porsches.

Well, the point of this post isn’t about the on-going love for Porsches in general but this Porsche 928 with a Jet Engine! I’d probably wouldn’t want to modify my car like that but it’s cool.

Here’s a video of it:

This masterpiece of automotive engineering features a Boeing car jet engine and quite a bit of easily repairable minor damage. With a fresh coat of paint and a little tenderness, however, you can have a gas guzzling super-beast that runs on just about any type of oil.

Airrobot Ltd. in Korea, has just started selling RINGO robots in Korea on their online store, Toymart.co.kr, for 290,000 won, equal to about $290 USD. They might ship it to the US if you can pay for shipping…

Lol, maybe I can start selling these on Zedomax.com like hotcakes…

Update: You can pre-order one right now, but you won’t get them till end of this month.

Good thing I can read Korean, here’s some specs:

RINGO robot is basically a riding robot for kids age of 3 to 7 years old. The RINGBO can travel at about 2 to 2.5 kilometers per hour. (Not too bad for a kid’s toy)

The RINGBO features a obstacle-detecting sensors to alert the child in case your kid decides to run into a wall. The RINGBO can also turn full 360 degrees while in idle position.

For dealer information you can contact their headquarters here:

+82 2-558-5155

I don’t know if they speak English but they probably do so… good luck.

Looks like a cool robot I wish I had when i was a kid. It looks like some kids will probably do some bumper-car smashing soon.

DIY Electric Unicycle that Balances itself!

Woohoo, I need a unicycle like this one!

The UNIQUECYCLE is an upgraded GEN2 unicycle featured below. It has been boosted to a 60V system yielding in excess of 1000W. The NiMh battery system has been replaced by SLA technology. The SLA is lower cost, easier to recharge and handles regeneration and peak current demands effectively. The higher voltage results in higher top-end speed. Speed overhead is critical for safety in order to maintain balance during road disturbances at high speed. The Uniquecycle will be getting a total controller redesign shortly with advanced digital low-noise sensors, and a more compact control box design with more safety and circuit protection features employed.

Propeller QuadRover Robot can Tow a Toyota Pickup Truck!

Propeller QuadRover Robot can Tow a Toyota Pickup Truck!

Holy crap, check this Parralax Propeller QuadRover towing a freakin’ Toyota Pickup Truck! At $4,000, it’s a hefty investment but you can play with it by custom-programming it to do whatever you need to make it do.

This gas-powered robot is built using a Honda 2.5 HP 4-stroke engine and hydraulic power system. It is controlled by a Propeller chip for the ultimate in customizable robots; eight 32-bit cogs at 20 MIPS each create endless programming possibilities. A 64 KB EEPROM leaves 32 KB for non-volatile data storage, and ample expansion ports provide plenty of flexibility for added sensors.

Four solenoid valves allow for the hydraulic power to be independently enabled, disabled, or reversed for either side of its skid steer system. The robot can rotate in position by making a complete hydrostatic turn or by braking one side and making an arc-turn, which can be accomplished at low or high speed. Straight-away top speed is up to 14 miles per hour. QuadRover uses a two-stage pump to provide high-end torque for low speeds and lower torque at higher speeds. This transmission provides a more continuous power band than a single-stage pump system. Servo controlled throttle and disk brakes make for precise acceleration and deceleration.

Strida Tech Bike!

With all the cool folding bikes out these days, here’s another cool folding bike called Strida.

The Strida from Area Ware works around a triangular frame, which means it, has strength as well as agility, because it will fold down flat making the bike totally portable in just five seconds. Now you have a light, yet compact bike for storage.

Italian Stalian 849cc Ducati comes now Leaner and Meaner!

Italian Stalian 849cc Ducati comes now Leaner and Meaner!

Wow, as a owner of Suzuki GXR-600, this is the bike I wanna get next.

The thing about Ducati’s is that they are so cool… Do we have any moto fans here???

Ducati upped the ante, unleashing a bike with an 849cc engine that weighs no more than competitors in the 600cc range. In fact, the Superbike 848 weighs 44 pounds less than its 749cc predecessor. To shed pounds, Ducati uses vacural molding, a fabrication process that inhales molten alloy directly into die casts to create a seamless piece of aluminum. This eliminates the need to fasten multiple pieces with welds and bolts that weaken a structure and add weight.

DIY - How to build your own G-Force Meter!

Remember I did a G-Force Meter couple years ago? Here’s another cool DIY G-Force meter. The only difference it that it uses 7-segment display and a PIC18F series microcontroller.

After seeing so many applications using acceleromters making a simple project of my own with this cool sensor just seemed natural.
The main application of the accelerometer is either for sensing tilt or sensing acceleration. For this application A G-Force meter for my car will be made to see how many “G’s” I pull while driving.

Jetpowered Sky-Diving Man!

This has got to be the most awesome sky-diving experience with a wing and jet that lasts up to 4 minutes at 200 kilometers per hour.

The jet-pack consists of wings with a total three meter span with four model engines built under the wings. Speeds of up to 200 kilometers per hour are possible. So far, the device does not allow powered take-offs. So, he jumps out of a plane, stabilizes his flight, and then powers up. Up to four minutes of powered flight at speeds of one hundred knots have been achieved.

New type of Skateboard - T-Board!

New type of Skateboard - T-Board!

Click Here to View in Full Screen Mode

Check out this T-board, it’s basically a skateboard with 2 wheels instead of 4. It seems to travel pretty fast and mich better for surfers, snowboards, who are trying to stay in shape during summer months.

You can order a T-board 38 inch here and T-board 41 inch here.

Firstly what’s a T-board?!

“The T-board is a high performance carving hybrid built specifically to mimic the sensation of carving on a snowboard or surfboard. Because the wheels form an edge right under the arches of your feet the carving sensation is one of the purest out there.”

41″ Snowboard / Surfboard Geometry Deck 41? long by 9 5/8? wide based on traditional snowboard / Surfboard geometry this board is perfect for aggressive downhill carving or longboard - style cruising. The Rubber “Indy” Wheels are specially profiled for intense downhill carving. Borrowing material and technology from Indy car tires these wheels really grab asphalt and offer greater edge traction for more controlled carving on medium to extreme declines.
