JH 13 Pro Review!

CNet’s Steve Guttenburg has just posted a hands-on review of the custom-fitted JH 13 Pro. As an earbud addict who reviews (cheaper) earbuds consistently, this is good to know that the JH 13 Pro comes with 6 drivers consisting of 2 woofers, 2 midranges, and 2 tweeters. That’s awful a lot of sound in an earbud if you ask me.

I probably won’t get one as I don’t think it’s worth the $1000+ price tag but perhaps some of you out there might be willing to cash out for some of the most expensive earbuds in the world.

The JH 13 Pro’s resolution of fine detail is extraordinary, drums sound more realistic than I’ve heard from any other type of headphone. The JH 13 Pro is “fast,” cymbals’ shimmer and sparkle the way they do in real life, and when a drummer whacks his sticks against the drums’ metal rims, the sound is more realistic. Dynamic oomph and slam are the best I’ve heard from an in-ear headphone.

Best “Value” Earbuds – Sennheiser CX300 Earbud Review!

Well, you know I am an earbud-addict when it comes to listening to music 24/7. Recently, during my CJU 2009 trip to Santa Barbara, I lost my Sony Walkman MP3 AND my Sony MDR-EX75 earbuds.

I did however, order another set of Sony MDR-EX75 earbuds and also ordered a $14 Sennheiser CX300 earbuds. (I saw that it had about 900 good reviews on Amazon so I had to try it out to compare against the MDR-EX75.

These Sennheiser CX300 earbuds are actually really great for bass-heads out there as it proved to have superior bass over the Sony MDR-EX75 earbuds. Don’t let the price fool you, the $14 Sennheiser CX300 earbuds are probably the best earbuds on the market for the money. If you like more treble than bass (and need detachable lines for sports), go with the Sony.

Of course, don’t forget that the Sony MDR-EX75 comes with detachable lines, a must if you are active in sports and listen to music during running, jogging, or anything that could break your earbud lines.

Here’s a real simple desktop computer wireless headphone you can make using a JVC wireless headphones instead of buying those $200-300 bluetooth headphones.

Did you know that there’s plenty of 12V and 5V DC lines you can use off your desktop computer to power a whole bunch of devices? Well, this is a great example of that.

After [Parker] found an old set of JVC 900 Mhz wireless headphones (and a generic 900MHz transmitter), he cracked open the case to see what he could do with them. Realizing that the transmitter used a 12V DC source, he powered it with an unused floppy connector (which provides +12V, +5V, and two ground lines).

The trouble with some Bluetooth headsets is that they look so large and in many case bulky too, that the wearer sometimes looks a bit strange. When it comes to women, they are not going to use one because they wear earrings and the two just do not go together.

The iPhone is a brilliant but as with any gadget that is carried around or moved about a lot the chances of it getting damaged or scratched get higher all of the time. Despite how great the iPhone is, with a scratch right across the screen nobody is going to want to know.

However, this case is the Factron Quattron version and as you can see, it is bomb proof or close enough. Yet despite being built like a tank the device can still be used as normal, now that is cool.

Best Earbud Review – Sony MDR-Ex75 Hands-On Review!

Honestly, I have to admit I don’t give hands-on review of every cool gadget since I physically can’t try EVERYTHING. (well, maybe in the future)

But for earbuds, I have tried many different brands and I know which one gives you bang for your dollar.

The perfect earbud that I am looking for and have found will not break easily and provide high quality treble and bass for my listening pleasures, even when I am going to sleep.

You might remember the post I did on Best Earbud Review couple months back, which features this very Sony MDR-EX75 earbuds.

I have been using these for the last 3 months or so (I upgraded myself from the MDR-EX55) and I have to say these earbuds are simply perfect.

Why?

First, the earbuds come with 2 pieces of cords, one short cord and the other extension. The extension cord makes the earbuds awesome because it’s a lot more pull-proof, especially when you are active like me and play sports while wearing your earbuds.

In essence, by having 2 cords, you will never run into your earbud internal lines breaking from pulling too much, the cords will simply separate before that can happen.

I don’t know why every earbud manufacturer is not doing this but I suspect the reason is that the manufacturers want you to break the earbuds and buy new ones.

Needless to say, I’ve spent easily $300 in the last year on earbuds alone, ALL of them broke because they were 1-corded, there was no point of breakage.

Compare it to a fuse box, if you don’t have a fuse box, your home electricity could just burn down and you might need thousands of dollars to fix that. But the fuse box protects from exactly that.

That’s what I am telling you, having the extension cord on an earbud protects it from those accidental tuggings on your earbud lines.

On top of this awesome protective feature which is the most common failure point in earbuds, the Sony MDR-EX75 earbuds are under $40 AND provides really good treble and bass.

Also read up on my Apple feedback of the Apple In-ear Headphones, which are crap and costs over $100!!!

Well, I don’t work for Sony, but these are simply the best earbuds I have ever tried. I even wear them when running on my manual treadmill.

Now, don’t get jealous, you can get your own for $34.99 on Amazon. (Get it on Amazon as they sell this model while BestBuy is still selling the older, outdated model MDR-55EX.

They say that things appear to be getting smaller all of the time, and this Mp3 player is no exception to that rule. This tiny gadget is only slightly larger than the keys on a laptop keyboard, which gives you an idea of its size.

Controlling the device is easy, simply pull the capsule apart and then twist to control the Pill’s actions. Although because of its size, the device is limited to around thirty minutes of music play.
