Skateboard goes 50MPH+ on the Highway in Germany!

A skatboarder in Germany achieved 50MPH+ on the highway. The German government is still trying to track down the person who did it to put him in jail but I think they should give him an award instead.
A video of the skateboarder, broadcast on German television networks on Wednesday, showed a helmeted figure wearing a red and white protective suit building up speed by holding onto the back of a motorcycle before letting go and freewheeling.
“We put out an all-points bulletin and have received information that gives us useful clues to who the man may be,” Stoeckle said. “We are particularly concerned about copycats who may imitate the stunt, putting their lives at risk.”
DIY Skatebrake Kit for High Speed Downhill Skateboarding!

Check out these cool Skatebrakes that will add brakes to your skateboard. Of course, this isn’t really practical for freestyling on the streets but it will definitely help if you live in area like San Francisco where steep hills will make it impossible for you to ride continuously.
With this brake kits, fear no more 45 degree hills in San Francisco, just apply the brakes if you happen to slide down too fast. I think even if you are an advanced skateboarder, this will help in really steep hills as it’s annoying to put your right foot down everytime you are going too fast.
And yes, this would be really great for picking up chicks on your skateboard.

Skateboard Staircase is way cooler than Floating Staircase!

Here’s a great idea for making cool staircase, a Skateboard Staircase made with bunch of empty skateboard decks, much more practical than floating staircase. Now, if they put some sand paper, it will make the stairs itself very secure to walk on.
One day if I get my own house, I am making every staircase with skateboard decks for sheezy.
This is a set of steps I made for our skateboard school. The aluminium beam is a solid billet of aluminium and the decks were custom made with concave only on one edge. You should see the look on our students faces when they make the treck to the basement.

DIY - How to Hack a Skateboard!

This isn’t really, technically a skateboard but it is a type of a skateboard you can make.
Here’s a great instruction on how to hack your own skateboard from scratch although I do suggest buying one if you can afford it.
I just finished out my latest project. A contribution for the DIY (Do it yorself) community. Since I love skateboards I just couldn’t start anywhere else. Inspired by the amount of waste produced by the growth of consumerism in Europe, specially here in Frankfurt, seen through the weekly dispose of old stuff in the middle of the streets. I wanted to show one way of rethinking the use of old materials in the example of a DIY skateboard.
Dirtsurfer is a Skateboard+Bike Hybrid Thingee!

Here’s a new way to skate down the gravel road with the Dirtsurfer, a hybrid surfing system consisting of skateboard and bicycle wheels flopped together.
It looks promising and fun but I am not sure if I am inclined to wear all that safety gear just to get on one.
The Freestyle Dirtsurfer features all the upgrades of the Flexi-Pro on a shorter length frame and smaller
16″ tires. The reduction in size allows for a lighter board that is more maneuverable so you can pull off
the biggest tricks imaginable! This board skates extremely well, but can still tackle the rough terrain.
