NASA creates flying telescope
This is an attempt to get some great images from space, but without the costs involved by maintaining the Hubble telescope in space, which is great but hugely expensive.

This forms part of the NASA Origins program and by working with the DLR who are the German Aerospace Centre they have developed a flying telescope inside a Boeing 747SP. This will fly at 47,000 feet and should some really cool images from space.
This could be a viable alternative to the Hubble and the space used to maintain it, however we will need to wait for until around 2009to see if it works as good as hope, when it is fully operational.

Microwave car stopper
Now I am not sure about this one, simply because it is made by Eureka Aerospace, but whatever the case the idea is pretty cool.

This device if it could be made portable enough could stop police chases once and for all, no body wants to see high speed chases apart from in the movies as they are a danger to all, so anything that could stop it has to be a good thing.
However what happens if they miss and hit the driver head?

The Quarter Wiki - a new paid Online Encyclopedia!
As you know, the team of moonlighters at Zedomax.Net has been working on new paid wikis. We belive this concept of paid wikis will blow up soon and we have just started diggin’.
We first made Five Dollar Wiki, One Buck Wiki, then EntreWiki.
Now, we introduce you to the new younger brother, The Quarter Wiki where you can buy a page for just a quarter!
That’s right, our motto for this new site is, “In Wiki We Trust”.
We are still working on some functionalities of the site, so don’t blame us if you find a page under construction. We just wanted to let you know heads up on the new website so you can go reserve your pages before all the good ones get taken.
The Quarter Wiki is a new paid online encyclopedia where you can buy your own page for just a quarter.
Unlike Wikipedia, you can add videos, RSS Feeds, advertisements, and GoogleMaps to a page on the QuarterWiki.
More simply, QuarterWiki filters spam by charging a small fee for each page so you don’t have to deal with it.
To get started with QuarterWiki, sign up for an account and search for your desired words you’d like to purchase.
Drink at the right temperature
This is mug that will help you see when your beverage is still ok to drink; there is nothing to worry about when you get stuck on the phone etc.

The mug changes colour with the temperature this uses a pigment that changes the colour of the surface it start at Off and finished at the On position, which should be the best way to drink, depending on how you like it, it may be the other way around!
Priced at $25.

The plasma nightlight
This seems to be a very strange thing to have as a nightlight as I would have thought that it would be enough to give anyone let alone young children, some really bad nightmares.

Now if this were to be placed into the room of a teenager, then they would probably sleep like a log and not take any notice of it at all.
It is quite fascinating though because there was a time when plasma balls were really expensive, now you can buy these nightlight versions for only $9.99 with a lifespan of approximately four years.

Toothpaste made from charcoal
Charcoal has some great filtering properties, it comes in water filters to make the water pure, and if you swallow something nasty then sometimes the hospital might give you some of the black stuff to soak it up.

It must be down to these qualities that a Korean toothpaste maker has produced “Charcle” which has all of the qualities of charcoal and unfortunately the colour too. Somehow I cannot quite imagine anyone putting black toothpaste onto their toothbrush and then into your mouth, can you?
Not much on prices or availability yet, but I am sure that there are going to be queues of people just wanting to get a taste of this one.

Get yourself a bottle of Momspit!
Oh yes, this product has been inspired by yes you have guessed it, remember when you were young and your mom made you spit on a tissue to wipe your face or if she used to just clear the fluid in her mouth, well you’ve got it.

Now this product which I am amusing does not contain anything so nasty as the real momspit, is actually a cleanser but it is supposed to be so natural that is has become eco friendly, of course you couldn’t possibly get anything more eco friendly than what is in the bottle.
Momspit comes in lemon/white tea, fig/green tea and unscented all which sound delightful.
Priced at $9 for a 2 oz can or $18 for a seven oz can.

Styrofoam cup vs deep sea pressure
Wow, check out what happens to a styrofoam cup when simulated to deep sea pressures.
Looks pretty cool doesn’t it…On the surface, at an atmospheric pressure of 14.7 pounds per square inch, the cup stands 4 inches tall. As the remotely operated sub descends, the pressure compresses the Styrofoam and the cup shrinks. Below 3,000 feet, under pressure 100 times greater than that at the surface, the cup shrivels to about half of its original size.
