Anyways, enough about my life, here’s how you can learn online on how to do a flip turn, a must if you want to keep swimming fast in the lap pools.

My advice for a quick flip turn on a freestyle stroke:  Simply start flipping before you reach the end of the pool and make sure your legs are ready to jump back out.

For backward strokes(or strokes where you are seeing the ceiling): Try to mark a point in the ceiling where you know you have reached the end of the pool lane and start flippin.

iPool is such a pool that will let you swim practically forever using the adjustable harness.  This could be a great way to help your kids learn to swim and keep them away from big pools, which could be potentially hazardous to small toddlers.

There’s two versions of the iPool, the regular one and the other with water filter/pump and heater.

If you live in areas with cold winters, I highly suggest you to get the one with the heater.  Besides that, I think the regular iPool should work fine, just drain the water if you are not going to use it for a long time.

It is fast, cheap, and has lots of storage. I accidentally sent it through the washing machine and it still works just as good. It can be a little bulky to get into crowded USB areas, but other than that no complaints.

Personally, I have a very bad eye sight which means basically I can’t see anything more than 12 inches away from my eyes.  And, as a swimming fanatic, I used to have bunch of prescription swimming goggles.

Although I stick to contact lenses and swimming goggle combo these days, here’s a great way to make prescription swimming goggles from your old glasses.

Cindy came up with this simple and great idea to make her own prescription goggles for only $12, saving hundreds of dollars compared to buying a pair from the optometrist or dive shop. If you have an old pair of prescription glasses, you can probably make a pair of these for cheap, and in only a few minutes.

With Swimmill, you can turn a small sized pool or maybe even a spa into a swimming treadmill.  Now, I got some ideas for future condos with a small sized roof pool that I can do miles of laps in.

Swimmill is the aquatic version of the treadmill; it allows you to swim without changing your position. The water current produced by Swimmill is the one that moves, just as the treadmill belt does while you are jogging.
