I have to say I’ve been fighting a LOT of gophers while I used to live at my parent’s house. I did use the Sonic Mole Deterrent which requires 4 D-sized batteries and would run out every couple weeks or so but here’s the solar alternative that will keep going once you insert it into the gophers’ holes.

These Sonic Deterrents basically make noise, which is really annoying to the rodents. (and to you too.)

Of course, one trick to deterring these nasty little gophers is to not use the Sonic Deterent all the time, make sure you deter them and take it out. Sometimes the moles/gophers will get used to the sound and no longer work.

Another good alternative is to use poison, works great for killin’

There are some people who actually go around collecting road kill for the dinner, so why not turn these unfortunate wild animals who have been struck down by passing vehicles into something worthwhile like a door mat, now that is useful.

These are of course not real animals, but resemble the real thing with tyre tracks too, which adds to the effect of the whole effect. These are so new that there is not even any news on the prices.

Sometimes we all have documents that need to be shredded, but unless you have the shredder out and ready for action, this sometimes gets over looked and the papers just end up getting thrown into the bin.

However, for someone who has a hamster, this device will put the little furry creature to work and shred all of those papers, which can be used by the hamster to make a nice warm nest too. This is a good way of providing warmth and exercise, while at the same time disposing of those papers, which need to be destroyed.

I have once played golf with one of the executives at AMD and he was telling me that future of computer chips are in organic chips sorta similar to human brain.

Well, here’s one of the first signs of that, a robot controlled by rat brain!

The robot’s biological brain is made up of cultured neurons which are placed onto a multi electrode array (MEA). The MEA is a dish with approximately 60 electrodes which pick up the electrical signals generated by the cells. This is then used to drive the movement of the robot. Every time the robot nears an object, signals are directed to stimulate the brain by means of the electrodes. In response, the brain’s output is used to drive the wheels of the robot, left and right, so that it moves around in an attempt to avoid hitting objects. The robot has no additional control from a human or a computer, its sole means of control is from its own brain.

Supersonic Mole and Gopher Control Repeller

We used to have lots of gophers on our lawn at my parents house. I’d buy 10 of these and put them everywhere. They work but you need a lot of them. Basically, the Supersonic Mole and Gopher Control Repeller emits sounds that repel moles and gophers from digging your lawn, a lot better than putting than water hose down one of the gopher holes.
