This is a great gift for someone who likes to keep fish, especially expensive fish like Koi Carp. It floats around and even glows when it is dark, it springs to life as soon as it touches the water.

It could also be great in the bath or if you want to keep fish but do not want all of the issues that come with them, then this has to be the one for you. The uses are actually endless; the fish itself is around seven inches in length so it can be seen from quite a distance.

I have not seen something like this for some time and yet tooth picks are being used more than ever these days, especially in restaurant industry where food tends to get into places where only a tooth pick will do.

These little toothpick holders will add an unusual feature to any table, but is especially useful at parties, this is because an item like this can really act as an ice breaker when the conversation goes a bit downhill. These animals have a series of holes across their mouths this is where the tooth picks are placed and when they are in place it looks like a right weird smile.

Sometimes something comes along that just has to be shown and this one is no exception to that rule, the people behind this design have come up with something really funny our of something that would ordinarily be very mundane.

This is the plug stopper that everyone has been waiting for. It is in the shape of a goldfish and when in use it looks as if a real gold fish has got stuck half in and half out of the sink plughole. It is really funny unless you have a liking for goldfish then we apologise in advance for.

Here’s an interesting concept for advertising, a real fish tank at a bus stop! Now, I will have to suggest some bullet-proof glass tethered with some security, maybe even add a security cam to make sure the fish tank doesn’t get stolen in the “hoods”.

As someone who loves to fish and also crab-fishing at nearby Pacifica or under the Golden Gate Bridge at the Pier, this DIY is definitely recommended for any serious fishermen who want to make their own plastic-molded fishing lures.

I was thinking the other day about how much it costs to buy fishing lures, when I always lose or break them. I also thought it would be great if I could come up with a way to customize them somewhat and create a whole new, possibly better artificial bait. After some searching, I found that commercial molds and plastics are extremely costly. I was in dire need of an alternative. What I came up with works extremely well, and can be made for cheap using old lures for the plastic and a few recycled materials for the molds and injector.

Often it is the simple things that turn out to be very interesting, and this is certainly one of the better gadgets around for the moment and the funny thing is that it is so simple. Basically, it is a shark’s fin in a tea cup.

The average tea drinker would normally put a tea bag in a cup and pour hot water onto it, yet with this gadget the tea or tea bag is placed in the device which floats around like a sharks fin in the cup it’s the idea of designer Pablo Mattedoa from Argentina.

Did you just happen to buy a giant fish tank for your shark that you caught the other day? Well, if you want to put that fish tank by your bed, you will need to make a fish tank stand and here’s how to make one.

I don’t have any production pictures, but it should you show the general idea on how to assemble a very sturdy stand. It’s pretty simple to build, because it kind of squares itself.

I got the idea off of another member on here. It’s also the same design as my 120 and 220.

Check out this giant Sea Bream fish robot. It’s almost real you want to chop it up for some nice stew or sushi.

The fish weighs a whopping 15.4 pounds, but it has a unique propulsion system that lets it move its tail and silently scoot through the water like a real fish. The body is made of silicone and the scales were hand-painted on for realism. And damn did they do a good job.

Here’s a robot fish fromUniversity of Washington that might just change the way environmental scientists collect data from the sea.

Over the past five years Kristi Morgansen, a University of Washington assistant professor of aeronautics and astronautics, has built three Robofish that communicate with one another underwater. Recently at the International Federation of Automatic Control’s Workshop on Navigation, Guidance and Control of Underwater Vehicles she presented results showing that the robots had successfully completed their first major test. The robots were programmed to either all swim in one direction or all swim in different directions, basic tasks that can provide the building blocks for coordinated group movement.

Cuttlefish learns in the Embryo!

Lol, this is cool, I guess Cuttlefish is the only living organism that can learn inside the egg…

Before they have even hatched, cuttlefish embryos can peer out of their eggs and spot potential prey. It is the first time any animal has been shown to learn visual images before they are born.

Ludovic Dickel and his colleagues at the University of Caen Basse-Normandy, France, made the discovery by placing crabs alongside cuttlefish eggs in a series of laboratory tanks. Those embryos exposed to crabs preferred them as prey later in life, the scientists report in the journal Animal Behaviour.

The young embryos must be able to see through their translucent egg case, the scientists believe, and learn which animals are worth hunting even before they have hatched. “This is the first time there is evidence of visual learning by embryos,” said Dr Dickel.
