I just had a random thought, what if you were for some reason stuck in the wild forests or mountain and you had to deal with Tigers or other animals who were hungry to get you?

Well, just for that reason, for protecting yourself, you might want to learn how to build a tiger pit (trap).

Pretty simple but a good knowledge to know for survival.

first you need to dig a hole about 4 feet deep then sharpen about 20 three feet tall poles about an inch around then stick them pointing straight up then cover the pit with small sticks and leaves

But really, I am against killing of all kinds of animals for recreation or fun, I think killing simply is bad. Fishing is okay though in my mind.

Just didn’t like the idea of using cardboard. I also wasted a lot of time trying to use electric motors and timers. This was a much better idea and has been working well so far.

Here’s an amusing story about Unlimited Group, a financial company in South Africa, that uses a “racing” homing pigeon to transfer gigabytes of data between their 2 remote offices in South Africa. Since Telecom in South Africa charges about $10/gigabyte of internet data transfer, Unlimited Group has enlisted one of the “finest” homing pigeons Winston to deliver their data.

The Unlimited has hired a high speed consultant, Winston, a top class racing pigeon from Gillits (just outside of Hillcrest). And on 9 September 2009 (090909), he will be transporting 4GBs of information in a micro-sd card and racing our 1mbps ADSL data line from Howick to Hillcrest.

What do I think?

I think these homing pigeons are great, there’s no doubt about that.

Next time you need to transport something small, hiring one of these homing pigeons might just be the best thing for your business.

I actually didn’t know homing pigeons exists outside of computer games but I guess they do exist!

Homing pigeons are called carrier pigeons when they are used to carry messages. This is possible where a message is written on thin light paper (such as cigarette paper) and rolled into a small tube attached to the bird’s leg; this is called pigeon post. People often labor under the misapprehension that the pigeons know where to deliver the mail. The fact is that they can only go back to one “mentally marked” point that they have identified as their home. So “pigeon mail” can only work when the sender is actually holding the receiver’s pigeons. White homing pigeons are used in Release Dove ceremonies at weddings, funerals, and some sporting events.

Talk about a great screen saver! I’ve been wanting to do this build for a while now. Just about every time I see and old CRT computer monitor by the side of the road on trash day I think to myself …that would sure make a cool looking fish tank. So here is my first attempt at turning and old computer monitor into a fish tank.

Dog DIY – How to Get Rid of Dog Fleas Using Natural Substances!

I have to admit to being bitten by fleas for like a 6-month period while I was watching my friend’s flea-ridden dog, flea bites are nasty and they can make babies pretty quickly and take over your whole home in just matter of weeks.

Anyways, I am glad THAT is over but I found an interesting article that shows you different ways you can get rid of dog fleas, all using natural substances. My favorite is the garlic solution, I happened to smell really bad after eating a lot of Korean BBQ, that will definitely work even on fleas. I am sure all these methods work on cats too.

1. Household salt. Sprinkle it all over the house and let it sit for a week or more. Apparently fleas don?t seem to like salt. Your dog will lay on the carpet and the salt will get on his coat. A short time thereafter the fleas are gone.

2. Talcum powder to get rid of fleas. Cover your dog with baby powder or talcum powder. The powder will smother the fleas and kill them. This all-natural flea remedy is often recommended for puppies who are too young to be exposed to any flea chemical. You can also use baking soda.

3. Olive oil solution. For the fleas on adult dogs, you might want to try an olive oil solution. Start from the dog?s head and work your way to his tail so the fleas don’t move to the face. People say that the fleas just drown in the olive oil and fall out. Then just shampoo the dog fleas down the drain. This can be a pricey solution and your dog will smell like a salad..

4. The Garlic solution. Some people swear that garlic is the best all-natural dog fleas remedy. Some people use a garlic pill supplement while others use freshly chopped garlic and mix it into the dog food. The fleas don?t like the scent emitted through the skin of the dog after he ingests garlic.

What with Hello Kitty appearing all over the place, now we are going to have to contend with seeing these furry keyboards all of the place. It is typical of the Japanese to up with something like this and actually, it is pretty cool and is bound to be of interest to many computer users.

What they have done is completely covered the edges of the keyboard with this faux fur, this makes sure that there are no sharp edges, although us computer users are kind or messy and I cannot see this fur staying that clean for too long, with sweets and drinks etc. This would look great with the cat’s tail USB flash drive.

Sticky tape is one of those products that can be a bit of pain, but at the same time could also give the user a whole host of fun times, why? I have no idea as to the reasons why but is certainly has nothing to with finding the end of the tape when it has become stuck down.

Therefore this sticky must be a godsend for people who have far too much time on their hands and simply have nothing better to than make pieces of art from boxes and cardboard. It looks pretty cool and makes for a good display, but there only so many boxes that you can put on the wall.

I happened to be a meatetarian who doesn’t eat lamb (and no pork until this #swineflu settles down), and here’s a creepy sheep shearing robot that will safely get all that hair out. But still, it’s scary if the robot somehow misses an inch and pokes the sheep. Not baaaad. #sheepvoice

I just wonder how many sheeps got killed in the making, hopefully none.

Despite how unsettling this contraption is, the inventor, James Trevely, claims that the sheep don’t mind it all that much. In fact, he says that the sheep often fell asleep mid-shear, which I find hard to believe. Even harder to believe? That according to physiological stress tests, copulation is the most stressful activity for sheep to withstand. You sheep need to work on your self-confidence.

Most cat owners will realize that cats are “very” hard to keep track of. What I mean is that your cat probably likes to hang out by himself/herself in the neighborhood and comes home for meals and whatnot.

Of course, not everyone has the luxury of living in a house (including me), but for those of you who do, you might just be able to benefit from making one of the cool Twitter Cat Door that will “tweet” whenever your cat uses the cat door. Each cat has a small RFID tag on the collar. When a cat is in the close proximity of the door, a small RFID reader reads the tag and if the cat is authorized, a servo will unlock the cat door. The RFID reader and the servo controller are connected to an old laptop. The software on the laptop is written in Delphi and for each “cat door event” is sending a Twitter message and a picture to twitter.com

Here’s a really cool DIY on how to make a stealth cat litterbox.

I’ve personally seen some really awful setups and I heard cat poop can be very poisonous for the human body but here’s a great way to keep everything sanitized and out of your way.

I added a couple litter mats $20, one inside, one outside, and the litter tracking is almost non-existent. I put rails on the bottom of the cabinet to make the box easier to slide out for cleaning, provide some storage space to stuff litter bags, and to hold the interior mat in place. Since it is an open-backed cabinet, I nailed a sheet of corrugated plastic (like on a yard sign) to the rear to close it off.
