Dog DIY – How to Get Rid of Dog Fleas Using Natural Substances!

I have to admit to being bitten by fleas for like a 6-month period while I was watching my friend’s flea-ridden dog, flea bites are nasty and they can make babies pretty quickly and take over your whole home in just matter of weeks.

Anyways, I am glad THAT is over but I found an interesting article that shows you different ways you can get rid of dog fleas, all using natural substances. My favorite is the garlic solution, I happened to smell really bad after eating a lot of Korean BBQ, that will definitely work even on fleas. I am sure all these methods work on cats too.

1. Household salt. Sprinkle it all over the house and let it sit for a week or more. Apparently fleas don?t seem to like salt. Your dog will lay on the carpet and the salt will get on his coat. A short time thereafter the fleas are gone.

2. Talcum powder to get rid of fleas. Cover your dog with baby powder or talcum powder. The powder will smother the fleas and kill them. This all-natural flea remedy is often recommended for puppies who are too young to be exposed to any flea chemical. You can also use baking soda.

3. Olive oil solution. For the fleas on adult dogs, you might want to try an olive oil solution. Start from the dog?s head and work your way to his tail so the fleas don’t move to the face. People say that the fleas just drown in the olive oil and fall out. Then just shampoo the dog fleas down the drain. This can be a pricey solution and your dog will smell like a salad..

4. The Garlic solution. Some people swear that garlic is the best all-natural dog fleas remedy. Some people use a garlic pill supplement while others use freshly chopped garlic and mix it into the dog food. The fleas don?t like the scent emitted through the skin of the dog after he ingests garlic.

There are some people who actually go around collecting road kill for the dinner, so why not turn these unfortunate wild animals who have been struck down by passing vehicles into something worthwhile like a door mat, now that is useful.

These are of course not real animals, but resemble the real thing with tyre tracks too, which adds to the effect of the whole effect. These are so new that there is not even any news on the prices.

Here’s an interesting hack concerning a device which can control lasers via the internet to keep your pet busy.

I would have to say this might be a great way to get your dog/cat’s attention while being able to see him/her in front of the webcam. (if she/he is not in sight of course)

I think this is a good idea that could be transformed into something commercial in the future for real dog/cat owners who might be at work.

So what is LaserPup? It is not a dog with a laser beam attached to his head, as cool as that would be. In its simplest form it is an internet enabled dog toy. I have created a small device that mounts in the ceiling of my basement where my dog likes to play. It is comprised of two servos, a buzzer, and a laser pointer. The servos move the laser pointer around on the floor, alleviating the need for my arms to do it myself. Because really, there is nothing more exhausting than sitting on the couch watching TV while your dog chases the laser around the floor. The buzzer is used to notify the dog that it is time to play, and also that play time is over. This is really a bit of a social experiment, and I’m curious how long it will take before he understands what it means (if ever).

Wow, this is an interesting news, a Florida couple gets their dog cloned and back to life in South Korea.

I think cloning shouldn’t be illegal for such cases as your dog or human and in this case, I am glad that the doggy came back to life, what a lucky dog.

What would be cool is if they can “grow” arms and legs for people who have had their arms or legs amputated.

What I wish

Bereft with life without their pet, the family decided to bid on a biotech firm’s dog-cloning auction in July.

On Monday, the family picked up a clone of Lancelot, called Lancelot Encore, at the Miami International Airport, where the three-month-old puppy stepped of a plane from South Korea, courtesy of Bioarts International.

Young Lancy did not come cheap: Mrs Otto sold a few pieces of expensive jewellery to raise the $155,000 price tag on the exact genetic replica of Sir Lancelot Snr.

Having your arm in a sling is going to mean that everyone you see is going to ask you how that happened; it must get to the point where it seems that you are answering the same question over and over again.

However, with this new idea there is only a need to explain it at the hospital where they will kit you out with whatever sling best suits your situation, therefore meaning that no explanation will be needed, of course you could always make out that you were doing something more macho than you actually were. After all who is going to know to the truth, I like the scary dog one!

Sometimes having a dog can be a pain, not because of anything, in particular, just the fact that they have to be taken for walks all of the time, which is great in the summer, but when the winter comes, it can be a nightmare.

Thankfully, there are some ideas out there that use technology to help you and the dog out, put simply this is a treadmill for dogs and is bound to get then nice and fit that is provided that they stay on the thing for long enough.
