Still feeding your lovely cat “manually”? It’s time to get off your lazy a** and start making one of these cool cat auto food feeders. Especially if you work during the day, this little device could feed your cat while you are gone. Better yet, build a gigantic version when you are gone for couple days so your cat never feels hunger.

I needed a self feeder for my cat, so he would stop waking me up. After looking around on the Net (and instructables) I did find one that I based this feeder on, in a book called (Snowball Launchers, Giant-Pumpkin Growers, and Other Cool Contraptions by Tom Fox) I take no credit for it. Just didn’t like the idea of using cardboard. I also wasted a lot of time trying to use electric motors and timers. This was a much better idea and has been working well so far.

What with Hello Kitty appearing all over the place, now we are going to have to contend with seeing these furry keyboards all of the place. It is typical of the Japanese to up with something like this and actually, it is pretty cool and is bound to be of interest to many computer users.

What they have done is completely covered the edges of the keyboard with this faux fur, this makes sure that there are no sharp edges, although us computer users are kind or messy and I cannot see this fur staying that clean for too long, with sweets and drinks etc. This would look great with the cat’s tail USB flash drive.

I have not seen something like this for some time and yet tooth picks are being used more than ever these days, especially in restaurant industry where food tends to get into places where only a tooth pick will do.

These little toothpick holders will add an unusual feature to any table, but is especially useful at parties, this is because an item like this can really act as an ice breaker when the conversation goes a bit downhill. Twitter Hack – How to Keep Track of Your Cat with the Twitter Cat Door!

Most cat owners will realize that cats are “very” hard to keep track of. What I mean is that your cat probably likes to hang out by himself/herself in the neighborhood and comes home for meals and whatnot.

Of course, not everyone has the luxury of living in a house (including me), but for those of you who do, you might just be able to benefit from making one of the cool Twitter Cat Door that will “tweet” whenever your cat uses the cat door. (And yes, your cat’s friends might be detectable too by the way.)

I think Twitter may have finally hit on something, they are not only the telegraph of Web 2.0, it can also be hacked to serve as messaging system for Twitter Cat Door or even future security systems.

Each cat has a small RFID tag on the collar. When a cat is in the close proximity of the door, a small RFID reader reads the tag and if the cat is authorized, a servo will unlock the cat door. The RFID reader and the servo controller are connected to an old laptop. The software on the laptop is written in Delphi and for each “cat door event” is sending a Twitter message and a picture to twitter.com

Here’s a really cool DIY on how to make a stealth cat litterbox.

I’ve personally seen some really awful setups and I heard cat poop can be very poisonous for the human body but here’s a great way to keep everything sanitized and out of your way.

I added a couple litter mats $20, one inside, one outside, and the litter tracking is almost non-existent. I put rails on the bottom of the cabinet to make the box easier to slide out for cleaning, provide some storage space to stuff litter bags, and to hold the interior mat in place. Since it is an open-backed cabinet, I nailed a sheet of corrugated plastic (like on a yard sign) to the rear to close it off.

Free ideas and DIYs have always been the point of this site, here’s another DIY on how to make an under-the-sink Cat Litter Box. Well, actually, it’s not really a DIY, you just pretty much put a cat litter box under your sink, that’s probably it.

My husband had the idea of using a lidded storage box, and we found the perfect item in the Ikea Snalis storage box. We cut out an entrance with a utility knife, and we originally had a plastic mat as a door — which our cat hated, so now we just leave it open. There is plenty of room for our big boy inside, and its flat lid fits under the sink perfectly. It’s a tiny little hack, but it works great!”

Here’s an interesting hack concerning a device which can control lasers via the internet to keep your pet busy.

I would have to say this might be a great way to get your dog/cat’s attention while being able to see him/her in front of the webcam. (if she/he is not in sight of course)

I think this is a good idea that could be transformed into something commercial in the future for real dog/cat owners who might be at work.

So what is LaserPup? It is not a dog with a laser beam attached to his head, as cool as that would be. In its simplest form it is an internet enabled dog toy. I have created a small device that mounts in the ceiling of my basement where my dog likes to play. It is comprised of two servos, a buzzer, and a laser pointer. The servos move the laser pointer around on the floor, alleviating the need for my arms to do it myself. Because really, there is nothing more exhausting than sitting on the couch watching TV while your dog chases the laser around the floor. The buzzer is used to notify the dog that it is time to play, and also that play time is over. This is really a bit of a social experiment, and I’m curious how long it will take before he understands what it means (if ever).

It’s your standard LCD desk clock that shows the time and date, but once you enter your pet’s birth date and specify their approximate size, the clock will also show you their supposed age. Although this is just a joke, this Cat Carrier should receive an award for the world’s most in-human cat carrier. Everything looks fine except I don’t think the cat will appreciate a dildo up her/his arse and the head cap which probably break the cat’s head more than hold it.

Of course, if you really hate cats, you can immerse yourself with Cat Arse Sharpener and the Cat Paw.

There’s the Emily Strange Cat Shadow Digital Watch too while you are at it.

Don’t worry, I’m sure the cat isn’t in much pain, it’s perfectly humane. They’ll love getting to travel more with the family. You could even take your cat outside with you for a nice summer day and not have to worry about it causing any mischief. According to Dr. Malmes Dobson it will “mold your special cat into the well-mannered creature God intended.” Sounds perfectly safe to me, I don’t see where a design such as this could possibly go wrong.
