Stealth Pennycam is pretty amazing in that it can capture video but it isn’t stealth anymore if we know about it… Well, I guess it can work for petty thieves who don’t use the internet anyways.

The PennyCam is concealed within a Take-A-Penny, Leave-A-Penny tray, and connects to a DVR using a standard BNC http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BNC cable, which can be run underneath the counter. The USD$199 unit is powered by a 12vdc adapter, and delivers 500×582 pixel images with its 1/3” Sony CCD http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CCD Image Sensor.

New AeroCam Wind Turbine breaks $1 Per Watt Cost Barrier!

Supposedly, these new AeroCam wind turbines are more efficient than ever and you can put them on the roof of your house for the most efficient wind electricity production ever.  If you can afford the high price tag of $250,000 USD for a 250kW system, it might be well worth your money than getting solar panels for your roof.

Sqish - Camouflage Satellite Dish!

Sqish - Camouflage Satellite Dish!

Here’s a funny satellite dish that is in a rectangular shape.  I am not sure how effective it is compared to a regular ol’ satellite dish but it does look like a great substitute.

The Sqish is a quirky contemporary alternative to a
satellite dish.

What does it do?

The Sqish can can be aimed at mid and high powered satellites including Astra, Hotbird and Eurobird. It can be used to receive Sky and Freesat in the UK.

Wow, this thing IS pretty amazing, when can I buy one for $2000?

One thing for sure, Comcast has money to burn…

The media wall covers an area of over 2100 square feet and uses four-millimeter LED lights, packed together as one giant, seamless array. It plays all manner of video, and even cool segments where three-dimensional-looking dancers seem to hover in thin air at five times the resolution of HD television.

MIT Students Develop Solar Dish Capable of 1000X Sun Power!

MIT Students Develop Solar Dish Capable of 1000X Sun Power!

Here’s a cool solar dish that is capable of “vaporizing” water the second you hit the apex of its dish.  The MIT students have already formed a corporation, there’s no telling when this will be available for homes and offices.

The results are staggering — the completed mirror focuses enough solar energy at its focal point to melt solid steel.  The energy of typical sunlight is concentrated by a factor of 1,000.  This was showcased during a demonstration, in which a team member held up a board, which instantly and violently combusted, when brought within range of the focal point.

Wow, check out this surgery robot that fold origami bird the size of a penny!

What you see here is the da Vinci Surgical System, a pair of remote controlled arobotic arms design for keyhole surgery, folding an origami bird. This seemingly frivolous use for the kit is to demonstrate the ease and accuracy of operation.

Philadelphia takes on 3D Road Bumpers!

Posted in Auto, Cars, Consumer, Government, Industrial by max on the June 14th, 2008 at 12:30 pm

Philadelphia takes on 3D Road Bumpers!

I remember they had 3D fake bumpers in Korea about 20 years ago when I lived there.  Well, now Philadelphia is trying them but the bumpers look too fake and I don’t think they will work well…

A new program dubbed “Drive CarePhilly” is being rolled out in Philadelphia in an attempt to get drivers to follow speed limits. As part of the program, approximately 100 intersections will be fitted with high tech 3D decals that they believe will fake out drivers into thinking there is something in the intersection.

Ultrasonic Golf Club Cleaner!

Ultrasonic Golf Club Cleaner!Ultrasonic Golf Club Cleaner!

Ultrasonic Golf Club Cleaner!

Wow, if I had enough money, I’d buy one of these ultrasonic golf club cleaners and revitalize all my golf clubs.

Features:

It is a known fact that dirt buildup on the face of a golf club takes backspin off the ball and affects the angle and distance of the golfer’s shot. Clean grooves propel each shot higher and farther, with increased backspin, so the ball sticks on the green. This can change the golfer’s overall score and consistency of game.

With Morantz Ultrasonic Golf Club Cleaners, all the problems associated with dirty clubs are removed. Within 2 minutes, even the toughest built-up dirt in grooves is removed safely and gently.
