Stealth Pennycam is pretty amazing in that it can capture video but it isn’t stealth anymore if we know about it… Well, I guess it can work for petty thieves who don’t use the internet anyways.

The PennyCam is concealed within a Take-A-Penny, Leave-A-Penny tray, and connects to a DVR using a standard BNC http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BNC cable, which can be run underneath the counter. The USD$199 unit is powered by a 12vdc adapter, and delivers 500×582 pixel images with its 1/3” Sony CCD http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CCD Image Sensor.

Supposedly, these new AeroCam wind turbines are more efficient than ever and you can put them on the roof of your house for the most efficient wind electricity production ever.  If you can afford the high price tag of $250,000 USD for a 250kW system, it might be well worth your money than getting solar panels for your roof.

Here’s a funny satellite dish that is in a rectangular shape.  I am not sure how effective it is compared to a regular ol’ satellite dish but it does look like a great substitute.

Here’s a cool solar dish that is capable of “vaporizing” water the second you hit the apex of its dish.  The MIT students have already formed a corporation, there’s no telling when this will be available for homes and offices.

The results are staggering — the completed mirror focuses enough solar energy at its focal point to melt solid steel.  The energy of typical sunlight is concentrated by a factor of 1,000.  This was showcased during a demonstration, in which a team member held up a board, which instantly and violently combusted, when brought within range of the focal point.

Wow, check out this surgery robot that fold origami bird the size of a penny!

What you see here is the da Vinci Surgical System, a pair of remote controlled arobotic arms design for keyhole surgery, folding an origami bird. This seemingly frivolous use for the kit is to demonstrate the ease and accuracy of operation.

I remember they had 3D fake bumpers in Korea about 20 years ago when I lived there.  Well, now Philadelphia is trying them but the bumpers look too fake and I don’t think they will work well…

A new program dubbed “Drive CarePhilly” is being rolled out in Philadelphia in an attempt to get drivers to follow speed limits. As part of the program, approximately 100 intersections will be fitted with high tech 3D decals that they believe will fake out drivers into thinking there is something in the intersection.
