Newest Navy Aircraft Unveiled by Northrop Grumman

Oooh, this is a cool plane

t the heart of the aircraft is the new radar, the APY-9, designed and built by Lockheed Martin Corporation. It can “see” smaller targets and more of them at greater ranges than the E-2C. The new rotodome, developed by L-3 Communications Randtron Antenna Systems, contains the critically important, continuous, 360-degree scanning capability, while adding an electronically scanned array. This system allows operators to focus the radar on selected areas of interest.

Wind Power from Highways

Wind Power from Highways

Wind Power from Highways2

Here’s a great concept for re-using the wind generated from cars racing on the highways. Great idea! Save earth and peace!

Average vehicle speeds on the valley highways are approximately 70 mph. Using average annual wind speeds of 10 mph as a baseline, each single wind turbine will produce 9,600KwH of energy, annually (enough to fully power my 700 s.f. apartment). This power production estimate will increase exponentially with an increase in wind turbulence speed. I believe that the wind stream created over the freeways by our primary mode of transportation will create an average annual wind speed well beyond the baseline of 10 mph.

09 F9 11 02 T-Shirt

Yay, let’s get on the band wagon for free HD-DVDs. Will we get some notices soon?

Did you know that you could get into really big trouble if you post the code 09 F9 11 02 on your website ? It is very likely that a takedown notice will be send to the owner of the website as soon as the RIAA, the AACS or some of their lawyers find your website. You might be wondering why they are making such a big deal about this code 9D 74 E3 5B D8 41 56 C5 which only some users might identify as the code to rule them all.. aka the processing key that unlocks the content of every HD-DVD available up to this point.

Google bought the WHOLE country!

Google bought the WHOLE country!

Google buys a European country Luxemburg for 37 billion dollars! Wow, I wonder what country they will be buying next. Well, eventually a lot of small countries will have to be renamed to Googleburg, Googlece, Googland, Googrea, Googpan, Googmerica…  This is much greater than Google buying a search algorithm from an Israeli student.

This is what Larry Page told us about it: “We were looking for a new place for our Europe Headquarter for a long time. Luxemburg is a small country with a very good economics. And one interesting fact: Luxemburg has the smallest % of crimes in the whole world. We gave our business plan to Luxemburg`s government about month ago. Yesterday they accepted our offer. It will be mutual partnership. All Luxemburg`s residents will have access to all Google services, free high-speed Internet and other bonuses. Also we want to change the name of our new country to Googleburg. It is quite simple (”burg” (german) - castle) but as all Google services. We`ll make our country open to tourists so every Google user could look at Google`s work inside. But I won`t tell you all secrets. It`s gonna be a big surprise!”

Use iPod as bullet-proof vest!

Use iPod as bullet-proof vest!

Use iPod as bullet-proof vest!2

Now, you can use the iPod to stop bullets!

Kevin Garrad (3rd Infantry Division) was on a street patrol in Iraq (Tikrit I believe) and as he rounded the corner of a building an armed (AK-47) insurgent came from the other side. The two of them were within just a few feet of each other when they opened fire. The insurgent was killed and Kevin was hit in the left chest where his IPod was in his jacket pocket. It slowed the bullet down enough that it did not completely penetrate his body armor. Fortunately, Kevin suffered no wound.

Samsung USB Monitor coming soon

Posted in Consumer, Cool, Gadgets, Government, Video, magic by max on the March 26th, 2007 at 4:43 pm

Samsung USB Monitor coming soon

Cool, Samsung is making some new USB monitors. I wonder if they are going to be powered by USB. Probably not at 5V… But it’d be cool if you could daisy link couple USB monitors together using some USB cables…

The best thing is that these USB monitors will not require any graphics card. tight tech…

Samsung has introduced what it claims is the world’s first USB-connected display, which also needs no graphics card.

The UbiSync LCD monitor has a 19-inch 1280-by-1024 screen that uses a software graphics adapter which it downloads to the PC when it is plugged into a USB 2.0 port.

Samsung senior vice president Ha Yoon-ho suggested that UbiSync would be ideal for laptop users wanting a second display, and for workers who need multiple PC screens. It includes a four-port USB hub, so up to five monitors can be connected via a single USB port on the PC.
