The other day, I bought HatCam so I can use it while snowboarding but was researching further because HatCam seemed to be a bit flimsy for snowboarding needs.  Anyways, after couple hours of researching online plus watching the video quality people uploaded on YouTube, I found the perfect camcorder for snowboarding, the GoPro HD.

Zoom Q3HD 1080P Portable Camcorder!

zoom-q3hd

Zoom has just announced their new Zoom Q3HD 1080P portable camcorder capable of recording at 30 frames per second on 1080P and 60 frames per second on 720P.

Whoa, that is pretty amazing when you consider the fact that it comes with (beautiful lookin’) stereo microphones on top.

Of course, time will tell if Zoom’s new portable camcorder will live up to its name but for now, it seems like a Flip-beater to me.

With the Q3HD, it’s never been easier or more fun to shoot great videos. Select 720p or 1080p for amazing clarity and detail no matter where or

flip-mino-hd

Although I don’t use my Flip MinoHD often as I’d like (because video on my Canon 7D is so much better), I still think Flip Mino HD is the best portable camcorder out there.  It sure beats trying to take a video with your smartphone.

And guess what, Flip has announced a new improvement to all their UltraHD and MinoHD models, 720P HD at 60 frames per second! (it was 720P HD at 30 frames per second)

What does this mean?

Well, now you can record up to twice mo

DSLR/Camcorder DIY – How to Make a Skater Dolly Using PVC Pipes!

diy-dslr-roller

Ever since I started hanging (I mean actually visiting them at job sites) out with my plumber friends at Sewer Specialists, they’ve been teaching me awful a lot including how easy it is to get some PVC piping together.   Well, here’s a cool skate dolly you can use for those action reels you are working on and save a bunch of money over retail.

Just like any other camera movement, using the table-top dolly takes a little practice to get smooth. Use it to circle, or describe an arc, around or past an objec

Filming Hack – How to Make a DIY Camera Crane!

http://i805.photobucket.com/albums/yy333/murray484/IMG_1966.jpg

I have always been fascinated by overhead shots that seems to rise from bottom or drop from the top (see the intro of this video).  You will need some sort of camera crane to make this happen.

Instead of overspending on new equipment, you can learn to make your own DIY Camera Crane using some wood and a bucket to offset the weight of your camcorder/camera.

What a great idea, this is something I am definitely making for my future videos.

Using bird feeder, paint roller, feather from Michael’s craft store, and a cheap microphone, you can make yourself a windproof microphone blimp with a shock mount that will do just as well as a commercial blimp such as this one.

For those of you simply need a microphone that will work well in outdoor, windy conditions, I think you could save a lot of money by

DIY Panorama Spherecam Captures 360 Degrees of Video!

flash panorama 1

Here’s a rather interesting camera technology, a DIY panorama spherecam that captures 360 degrees of video!  Watch the video here and you can actually click the arrow to see left, right, up, or down.  I think in year 2020, every point-and-shoot camera should be able to do this.  I hope so. FREAKIN’ AWE$OME!

Then, the two output footages are copied to an editing machine to run through a post-process operation. The process is comprised of several stages s
