This is the sort of thing that would expect Homer to come bungling in a drink the lot. If that did happen, the owners of the world most expensive bottle of beer would not to be too pleased at all.

At $1,200 per bottle, it would be surprise at all.

The 12-litre bottle of Vieille Bon Secours ale has been in storage for the last ten years and should now have an alcoholic volume of around eight per cent.

It is not a rare beer, just expensive and yet some bars are reporting of some people buying two or three bottles of the stuff!

Making your own brew of beers will take some cooling with the use of a wort cooler.(I think)

This home brewer has built his own MASSIVE DIY Wort Cooler, this might be indeed useful for those of you who like to tinker.

A 5 meter length of pipe is filled with dry sand, This is tamped down firmly and then the pipe is capped. I did this by standing on top of my garage so I could reach 5 meters high (over 16 ft) and I then filled the pipe with dry sand through a small funnel! The pipe is then laid out straight somewhere soft (the lawn) and is inserted down the formers central hole. It is then formed around the end of the former either left or right and then wound around the formers outer surface following the spiral guide tape (blue) The diameter of the former, the pitch of the spiral and the number of turns in each coil is up to you. My coils are 6″ internal diameter, 2″ pitch on the spiral and 8 turns on the coil

A Parallax Basic Stamp 1 monitors the progress of the stunts using microswitches added to the accessories. If the track is properly set up (requiring a hint of sobriety) and the Basic Stamp verifies the proper trigger sequence and timing intervals, then a 12-volt pump fills a cup with pre-mixed margarita from a gas can reservoir.

R2D2 must have earned plenty of cash after starring in all of those films, but sometimes money does not last forever and after a few investments went bad due the credit crisis, suddenly he has found himself on hard times.

Here a fan caught working in a bar, collecting those empty bottles and glasses from drunks who have had enough and waiting tables around with burgers and fries, oh how the mighty have fallen.

Some people are simple too worried about germs and other nasties that lurk the shelves of the supermarket and to be perfectly honest you cannot really blame them can you? However, normally when a can of drink a simple wipe over is enough, but is it? Does wiping get rid of the germs some people feel not.

Nevertheless, there is no need to worry because there is the Cole Cleaner it uses UV to make sure that there are no germs on the rim of the can and therefore making it safe to drink. This device can only manage one can at a time, but if it for you own use that is all you need, isn’t it?

DIY Beer R2D2 Serves Beer!

Looks like someone overly zealous about Star Wars have made a cool DIY Beer R2D2. Now, this one uses a Heineken can but I am sure you can use the bigger version, like a real keg, to make a functional Beer R2D2. Anyone up for the challenge?

What is Beer2-D3 made from?

Beer2’s technical specs:
Head – 1945 chrome BLC utility light shell.
Eye - vintage movie camera lens w/adjustable spring-loaded aluminum casing.
Body – 4.7 liter “adult soda” mini-keg.
Legs – propane tank valve handles, brass spacers, drilled-out washers, pair of aluminum Lady Josephine shoe butler (wall-mounted shoe shine holders).
Feet/base – 3 mini bread loaf pans, lamp hardware and a 1/2″ precision drilled aluminum base plate.
+assorted nuts, bolts, screws and, of course – lockwashers!

It is not unusual to find a bottle in a glass at the end of a long night, but this glass has been designed like this, maybe it is to help those people who have had a few too many feel at home or maybe it is just a great piece of design.

The style and design of this looks as if there has been a lot of thought going into this, after all getting the bottle shape inside the glass is going to be a conversation piece when your friends are around for a few. The glass has a double wall, like the glass and the bottle that have been put together and sealed at the top.

Remember the MicroFueler that came out last May? Well, Sierra Nevada, the beer brewing company has figured out that you can also use beer to make ethanol as beer contains yeast.

I am seriously going to get one of these beasts as soon as I buy my first house. Think of all the beer I can re-use!

Sierra Nevada, brewer of delicious beers, has purchased a MicroFueler, a contraption that produces ethanol from water, sugar and yeast. Yeast also happens to be a major byproduct of beer fermentation, allowing them to make fuel out of beer leftovers.

Drink DIY – How to Make Wine!

Have you ever wondered how to make wine? Well, don’t worry as there’s plenty guides out on the internet including this one:

Pour the juice into a 5-gallon container. Boil the water and sugar together until the sugar dissolves. Set aside to cool, then add the grape juice and yeast package. Securely close the container so that no air is released. Allow the wine to ferment for four weeks before bottling.

Ice Cream can cause Breathalyser Problems!

A man in Australia found out the hard way that ice cream can cause breathalysers to record alcohol levels even if the person hadn’t been drinking. Next time you get pulled over and your alcohol level is higher than your soberness, you might want to fight in court.

Prosecutors inquired why the machine had registered a “fail,” which prevents the car from starting, despite the man’s claims that he had not been drinking.

The man claimed the alcohol reading was the result of eating a Bubble O’ Bill ice cream treat and Magistrate Rod Crisp ordered a test to be performed to back up the claim. Police recorded the man’s blood alcohol content as 0.00 and performed the test a second time after he took a few bites of Bubble O’ Bill, yielding a 0.018 reading.

Well, we’ve probably wonders how to make beer at home at least once in our lifetime. Here’s a great delicious DIY that shows you exactly how to do that. Drink your own draft beer and stay healthier. (1 beer per day has proven to keep you healthy)

Most recipes for the homebrewer are written to make 5 gallon batches. I’ve simply cut the ingredient list by half for the 2.5 gallon batch here. You’ll need to find a local homebrew supply shop or one of many such shops on the web from which to purchase the ingredients. (See resource list in Step 15)

The concept for BaR2D2 was born when a friend showed up to an event with a radio-controlled cooler. We joked about taking the idea to the next level and in the Spring of 2008, construction began.
