Hi Tech black finish shower

Posted in Consumer, Energy by david on the May 17th, 2007 at 12:00 pm

If you like to see some hi tech stuff in the bathroom, something that has all the lights and knobs, in a superb matt black finish, the only problem with that is the fact the rest of the bathroom would need have to match somehow, all black, or bit of black, you know what I mean, and what about keeping clean etc!

shower

However back to the shower, it one of that enables you to pause, and when you get back the water is the same temperature that is was when you left it, no hanging around for the water to get hot again, great.

Steam turbine tank!

Cool, we are looking forward to Maker Faire for cool steam tanks like this!

So what do you do after you’ve made a bunch of steam powered r/c tanks? Well you try making a steam turbine tank of course! Making a steam turbine r/c machine has sort of been one of my Holy Grails, but there are many issues with steam turbines, that made it difficult for me to tackle on the project.

Sustainable Skyscrapers

Sustainable Skyscrapers

Erin joins our new Blog network site, Keetsa! Blog, which is a new blog about eco-friendly and green. Well, here’s a cool post she wrote about the sustainable skyscrapers, similar to previous post on the Rotating Towers to be built in Dubai. On the side note, can you believe it? I went from hacking gadgets and embedded devices to selling mattresses! Well, I can still keep blogging more and more and that’s one good thing. Our blogs will act as the community building marketing thingee while we try to sell beds online as our main revenue. Speaking of, we might start selling some magnetic bracelets for like 20 bucks. Well, Garrett says it won’t sell but who knows…

Anyways, I really need to pick up the pace here…

Tree Hugger posted about this today, but it is so neat, I felt the need to share it with you guys! Eckhard Gerber, a German architect, wants to build skyscrapers that are completely self sufficient. His proposed design is extremely eco-friendly and adventuresome. While it is expected to cost $406 million dollars, the buildings would be cooled by seawater, be powered by wind turbines and solar panels.

Eco-design - rotating towers that can power itself

Rotating Towers

Wow, check out these rotating towers that can power itself!

While the technical details of the wind-power system are sketchy at best, the architect, David Fisher, claims that the tower could power itself and ten other similar sized buildings. Frankly, the claim seems somewhat outlandish, but even if it produces just it’s own energy, it would be a significant achievement.

Fisher has proposed that towers be built in a new way, basically by stacking platters on a central concrete core. This will allow for two unique and awesome features. First, a wind turbine between every floor (see image above) and, second, rotating floors.

World Energy Movement - Do not buy Gas on May 15th and lower gas prices!!!

Posted in Blog, Cool, Earth, Educational, Energy, Entertainment, Funny, Web, Wordpress by max on the May 9th, 2007 at 5:49 pm

Do not buy Gas on May 15th and lower gas prices!!!

I’ve been getting several of these messages today, so I figured I might pass it on. Maybe we can make history and make May 15th the day to not buy gas and also use less gas.

DO NOT BUY GAS on the May 15th and let’s see what happens.

Let’s make it a world affair really and make it big!

On the side note, we have a new blog called, Keetsa! Check it out, it’s about eco-friendly and green! We are actually selling some mattresses but before we open our e-store, I figured I’d just put a blog on it.

Yes, we are always making too many blogs, but the big question is, (if you are not blogging) why are you not blogging?

You should be blogging~  :)

Fwd: DO NOT Buy as May 15th. If nobody buys, the gas company loses 2 billion & the next day they will drop the price 35 cents, it worked in 1997, pass it on!

Search for the fastest Sprint MotoQ vs. Sprint Samsung IP-830W

Here’s a video test showing internet speed performance between Sprint MotoQ and the Sprint Samsung IP-830W as promised on the previous post.

Although I just broke my bank getting these two phones…

I hope these phones will do the trick and let be blog on the go… If not, we will have to cancel more contracts and get some new faster phones. (wtf)

The test results shows us that there is really no difference in the phone but the network. Cingular is definitely slow on even with HSDPA. I am just glad I don’t have to use the 8125 anymore, maybe I will offer it for freebie if anyone wants it.

Wind Power from Highways

Posted in Business, Consumer, Cool, Earth, Educational, Energy, Entertainment, Government, Industrial by max on the May 2nd, 2007 at 5:45 pm

Wind Power from Highways

Wind Power from Highways2

Here’s a great concept for re-using the wind generated from cars racing on the highways. Great idea! Save earth and peace!

Average vehicle speeds on the valley highways are approximately 70 mph. Using average annual wind speeds of 10 mph as a baseline, each single wind turbine will produce 9,600KwH of energy, annually (enough to fully power my 700 s.f. apartment). This power production estimate will increase exponentially with an increase in wind turbulence speed. I believe that the wind stream created over the freeways by our primary mode of transportation will create an average annual wind speed well beyond the baseline of 10 mph.
