Here’s a great way to make a table using recycled wood. When I get a big house, I will certainly make one myself. (and upload me doing so on YouTube)

The results on this table are rather magnificent, I didn’t know you could do that with old wood.

There’s a lot of wood out in the world free for the taking — in dumpsters, back alleys, vacant lots, abandoned buildings, recycling yards, and architectural salvage centers. Most wood, if free from rot, is just as strong, durable, and good to use as new wood, once you sand off the weathering. This table was made from all salvaged wood — both dimensional lumber and plywood, mostly taken from decaying buildings in and around Hale County, Alabama

Here’s a rather cool design for a lamp that uses a sphere to turn itself off or on. When in the “ON” state, the sphere levitates under the lamp via magnetic forces creating an illusion of floating ball. Brilliant!

The lamp is lighting and the switch levitates till it is taken off by the user in order to turn the light off.

Here’s a rather cool $3400 LED Platform Bed I would want to get. This sustainable wood platform bed features naturalistic looking cuts on the bed itself couple with high-output LEDs to glow in the dark. Perhaps, I can make one myself but the designer of this furniture has done an awfully good job, I don’t think I can actually replicate it.

Expose LED bed is a sustainable green bedroom furniture with a complete series of bedside and wall lamp (1 Bed + 2 Bedsides + 2 Wall lights). Taking around three months to complete one set, the LED bed is handcrafted in rotten teak planks mixed with white LED light, and a blue light effect is caused by the clear epoxy material.

Here’s a great design for carpet lighting using one of those string lights and carpet material.

Here’s a rather interesting idea that involves lighting and carpets, a DIY spiral carpet light! I think there’s many uses to this concept if applied to carpets in real houses. For example, you can hook it up to a motion sensor so the carpet near your front door will light up whenever you walk in/out of the house. Brilliant!

I see too often that too many people have the same IKEA furniture where ever I go, another reason I stopped shopping at IKEA or hack it like this to differentiate my home furnishing.

As you probably just guessed, this Instructable will show you how to convert a Gorm shelving unit into a bookshelf bench. With a few extra peices of hardware and a couple of basic power tools, you could be on your way to relaxation and organization all at the same time.

The gates at the side of our house succumbed to a big wind storm recently. The cause was ground rot on the posts, but that meant that most of the wood was still in pretty good condition despite being over thirty years old. Instead of throwing it out my wife suggested recycling it to make an outdoor table.

Here’s a review by a customer:

Year after year ordering tent after tent. Finally, this one is fabulous! Easy to put up, sturdy, well made, sharp looking, and easy to move. Great detailed construction. Comes in a great zippered carry bag with pockets and wheels, similar to a golf travel bag. Zippers very good quality. Great fitting screens. Vertical walls give great room and coverage. The fabric is a very nice and much softer white than in the pictures. Frame is one big piece that unfolds like an accordian. 5 minutes max to put up. Much better than I expected. I put three together and now have 300 square feet of a new summer home. Could not be more pleased!

Also, don’t forget to get the matching wind-breaker for this for rain season.

I am actually in the process of moving to a new house soon, when I do, I will definitely get one of these in my backyard for backyard blogging.

2 weeks ago I bought one of these awesome anti-gravity recliner lounge chairs so I can keep blogging anywhere I want while my body is recessed at a 20 degree angle at the beach. I am also about to go out to the beach (and will take pictures of my recliner lounge chair) but these are the most AWESOME lounge chairs ever made.

I even did some research before buying this cool lounge chair and found that the LaFuma was actually the inventor of these lounge chairs. Their patent expired so everyone else started making them too. I don’t see much value in buying the original LaFumas as they are pretty much all the same things.

Do you like to tinker with your computer a lot like me? Well, you can make yourself a DIY CPU Desk like the guys over at Evil Mad Scientists did. Way cool. (via bed blog)

I just love the way that this desk looks. But it gives me an idea too– take it one step further, and what if it worked? You could use a single, giant PCB for the motherboard which sat underneath the glass surface of the desk. With that much area, you could fit in a lot of processing power. On the cheap (or moderately cheap), one could imagine instead filling the inside of a desk top with low-cost (even last-generation) PC motherboards to make a great looking beowulf cluster or render farm that doesn’t take up any desktop or rack-mount space.

Seriously though, I’d LOVE to see a working version, a REAL desktop PC! That’s on my list of priorities now.

The idea of steamed up mirrors drives some people made, for others who are on the large side it’s a bit of god send but that’s a different matter. The trouble with steamed mirrors is that if you wipe with your hand it ends up being marked.

This is the sort of thing that you would expect to see in the Apple Store, but apparently, it has not been bundled out of the side door, these tables have actually been made. Obviously, the Apple furniture is going to be an instant hit with all Apple fans and why not.

This is a lamp or light fitting, depending on where you put it, that uses the casing off a CCTV system, these cameras are everywhere and here in the UK they say that we caught on CCTV more than any other country, now that is saying something.

Most older houses have trouble catering for the power demands of the modern lifestyle, with one or two power sockets in a room sometimes at different ends of the room. This normally means that we end up having to resort to extension leads.

However, maybe there is a better way for us to a power the electrical item that we have accumulated, like this power point wall. As you can there is no problem finding a spare socket in this room in fact you could say that it is power point over kill.

Normally the humble spray cap off the top of an aerosol can do not often get much publicity, it is probably because they are so tiny and often block up just when you need them.

Therefore, it is strange to see how the designer Sander van Heukelom from Holland has managed to come up with furniture that looks like the tops of the cans. Naturally, these are slightly more larger than the normal sized version.

Clocks seem to come in all shapes and sizes these days, in fact it is sometimes difficult to tell what is a clock and what is not most of the time because so much care and attention has gone into the design that some of the clocks like this one, appear to be something else entirely.

There was a time when owning a small bodied private jet was a sign of real wealth, but it seems that it not good enough for these days bigger is most definitely better. This the design for a privately owned Airbus A380, bought for $500,000,000.00, which is obviously a bargain!

However, not content with just that, the plane had to fitted out and made into a three floor flying palace. It has three floors because unlike normal aircraft this one does not need the luggage hold. Bedaise how else would they have been able to create a room with a transparent floor, oh yes that is what I said!
