Dark Restaurant

Posted in Consumer, Cool, delicious by max on the April 13th, 2007 at 4:25 pm

Dark Restaurant

Wow, check out this Dark restaurant in Beijing, China where you must eat all your food in total darkness and waiters/waitresses wear night-vision googles to find their way around… I guess there a Dark Restaurant in Australia and in Germany too where some of the waiters are blind.

The first dark restaurant in Asia is officially opened on the 23 December 2006. This restaurant, located in Beijing, China, has its interior painted completely black. Customers are greeted by a brightly lit entrance hall and will be escorted by waiters wearing night vision goggles into the pitch dark dining room to help them find their seats. Flashlights, mobile phones and even luminous watches are prohibited while in this area. The meal will be taken in this environment with the complete loss of vision. By starving one’s sense, your other senses are stimulated to full alert – all so the theory goes – and your food will taste like it’s never tasted before. In case you are wondering about the washrooms, they are all brightly lit. Link [in Chinese]

Wow, check out this incredible glide toaster. This will be a great gadget for designers who want to cook some real designer’s toast and would complement any regular joe’s home too.

Wagg It - Blog Voting Community

Posted in Blog, Business, Consumer, Cool, Network, Web, Wordpress, delicious, digg by max on the February 28th, 2007 at 11:28 am

wagg it

We have been messing around with Pligg, a digg-like social CMS (content management system).
First we made wagthis.com hosted on Dreamhost but after running for a month the shared server seems to go down a lot.
Since then, we made a new one with better hardware on wagg.it.
(It took us like a month to register the domain name through a european registry but we were finally able to get it working…)

It’s a blog voting community where you can submit your blog posts and other bloggers can vote on posts. It’s still experimental at this point but check it out and if your blog post in on there, make sure to wagg it!

Check it out and leave your thought on how we can make it better.

You might have notice the Wagg It widget on our posts, you can get one too here:

(Help us promote our new blog voting community if you have a blog.)

Add Wagg It button to your blog

Social Bookmarking Plugin for Wordpress

Go Wagg somethin’

Wagg It is a user driven “social blog content” website. What the heck does that mean?
Well, every news on Wagg It is a blog post submitted by waggers (that would be you).
After you submit your content from a blog, other people read your stuff and wagg on it. (Like your dog waggs whenever he/she sees something new)
If your story gets enough waggs, it gets promoted to the front page for all other waggers to see. What can you do as a Wagger?
Every wagger can wagg(help promote) on stories and submit new stories from any blogs.(Think of it as Technorati except you can vote on it.)
Want to share a video or news story with a friend? Wagg it!

Battery Powered Vortex Beer Chiller

Posted in Consumer, Cool, Entertainment, Gadgets, delicious, magic by max on the February 26th, 2007 at 11:48 am

Beer Chiller

Tight! Here’s some beer gadget for all you beer lovers! (Cheers, my favorite beers are: MGD, Pabst)

The battery-operated device also removes the heat from the outside of the can using special secret technology. All this chilling tech runs on two AA batteries, and all you have to do is just add a little ice and water. Or, you could just put your beers in the refrigerator and night before for free

Round-up HOWTO Links for the day

Posted in Business, Consumer, Cool, DoItYourself!, Educational, Entertainment, Gadgets, Graphics, Storage, Web, delicious, photography by max on the February 10th, 2007 at 8:08 pm

http://zedomax.com/image/200702/links.jpg

We’ve decided to do some round-up links for the day for the hell-of-it.

  1. Check out How to fake a Web 2.0 logo for some hints on your next website’s new logo.
  2. Here’s Delicious bookmarking howto for anyone new to Web2.0 bookmarking.
  3. Check out HOWTO fight Companies Online. Their number advice is to start a blog. nice…
  4. In a response to ridiculously long mattress names: “They confuse us with silly product names (the Sealy Posturepedic Crown Jewel Fletcher Ultra Plush Pillowtop or the Sealy Posturepedic Crown Jewel Brookmere Plush?). They flummox us with bogus science (”pocketed coils”? “Microtek foundations”? “Fiberlux”?). And they weigh us down with useless features (silk damask ticking?). It’s like buying a used car, and almost as expensive—I’ve seen mattresses going for $7,000. What’s a consumer to do?”
Yes, this is true, let’s just buy some memory foam and forget the rest.
  5. Interesting take on running a business without managers.
  6. HOWTO make RAM disk on Windows XP
  7. Chopstick Manners?!? ridiculous…
  8. HOWTO make Apple iMartini
  9. My favorite Linux editor, vim HOWTO. (or vi)
  10. Cool Photoshop lighting HOWTO
