DIY HACK - HOW TO Make your own drill powered skateboard!

Drill-Powered skateboard

Here’s a great way to make a drill powered skateboard! Why didn’t I think of think when I used to skateboard all the time when I was skateboard commuting in college?
You could probably find a better way to make this so you can stand up while the drill powers you through some nice asphalt.
The example above seems very dangerous though, you could get your hand caught between the asphalt and the drill and…yuck…that wouldn’t be nice.

Solar GPS Logger

Solar GPS Logger

Here’s a cool little project that stores data into an SD card using solar power.

After some prodding from customers and an upcoming prototype run I decided to throw in a little breakout board that would allow 2 solar panels to be connected in parallel to a 7805 linear regulator. An LED was added with a switch so the user could identify when the board was making power. These boards can output 8V@300 mA and should easily provide more than enough votage and current to charge the batteries. This setup is perfect for backpackers and other users looking to ditch their backup AA batteries.

Only indoor testing has been conducted on these (its nightime right now) but some 23W florescent bulbs provided enough voltage to light the LED charging light of the gps logger!

Type Micro$oft on Google

Posted in Blog, Consumer, Cool, Web, Wordpress by max on the March 6th, 2007 at 8:53 pm

Micro$osft

Lately, I’ve been indulging myself with a book called, Blog Marketing by Jeremy Wright.
It’s got some useful stuff for bloggers out there. (I recommend it)
While reading, Jeremy mentions something about micro$oft and how many results you can find about it on google.
So I tried it and as you can see, there’s more than a million stuff about Microsoft haters.
Well the point is, actually there is no point, I just wanted to try it and also promote Jeremy’s book.

U can get a glimpse of his book here.

Windows mobile iPhone theme

Here’s a way to make your Windows “look” like an iPhone. (very authentic!)

Most of the icons are just shortcuts to the equivalent apps on Windows Mobile, but the most impressive thing must be the screensaver and the scrolling. The screensaver lets you whisk your finger to the right to unlock the phone, and the scrolling mimics the finger scrolling on the iPhone. A nice stopover between now and June for those who really can’t wait.
