Check out this nify mini-nibble for $20 found over at the Tool blog. Tool blog? That’s cool…
This tool would be great for many nifty DIY projects.

Jaws are made from heat-treated tool steel and are replaceable in seconds. Cuts up to 16 gauge aluminum, brass, and copper or up to 18 gauge mild steel. Made in France.

Too bad I couldn’t make it to the Web2.0 Expo in San Francisco this year, but I drove by it and took a picture. (Yes, is that a Porsche Cayenne? I want one!!!)
I was too busy starting some new businesses but hopefully I will have more time to blog soon.
Check out the video by Eric Schmidt from Web2.0 Expo.
Build a Super Sky Cycle and jump that traffic jam!

Check out these Super Sky Cycles you can build which are a motorcycle/helicopter hybrid.
Don’t worry about traffic jams anymore. This SkyCycle is a cross between a motorcycle and a gyroplane. It can race to 55 mph on the ground and more than 100 mph in the air. Unfortunately, it is only available as a kit, so you’ll have to rely on your own craftsmanship… but it will only cost you about $37,000.
FUN FACT - Seahorse Male Pregnancy

Did you know seahorse males give birth lay eggs???
So, in a nutshell. Male seahorses compete with each other to become pregnant for three weeks (during which time they cannot move around to search for the best food), go through 72 hours of labour and exhausting final contractions to release up to 200 baby seahorses. During this process the natural colour of the male seahorse drains from his body and he becomes white and pasty looking. The experience (yes, we have it on film) looks painful and I cannot imagine that he would want to experience a baby seahorse birth again. But, after a very short time, sometimes only hours, the male starts showing off his pouch, begging to be pregnant again.

Free Software Open Source heckler while Bill Gates speaking at a China university

Cool, this guy jumped out while Bill Gates was speaking at Peking University in China. I think Microsoft should go open-source…
Wen sez, “On April, 20th, Bill Gates went to Peking University to give a talk titled “Creativity, China, Future”. After the talk, someone held a piece of paper written with ‘Free software, Open source’ rushed to the stage before Mr. Gates while spoke word to support open source software. It is said that that man is named Yang Wang, and he is a representative of LPI (Linux Professional Institute)

Check out this cool Roomba that can shoot continuous soft BBs to the target which it tracked through it’s laser sighting.
This is a current project of mine, hacking a Roomba Red. After seeing all the roomba hacks on MAKE and Hack A Day I really wanted to build my own bluetooth controlled roomba. What really finally motivated me was seeing all the different projects on TodBots site. I have an Arduino and have been wanting to learn Processing, this is my chance to do all three! For my first project I figured that I could use the camera off of the Sonarbot and find a video to usb converter for my laptop. Quick and easy remotely operated robot on the cheap.

Garrett’s USB Mouse Prank Device
I was at work trying to draw some stuff and Garrett came over with his USB Hid Portal device and plugged it into my USB hub (which was annoying at first) then suddenly my mouse started making circles on its own! So we decided to call this the USB Mouse Prank Device… There’s really no howto on this but you can check out Garrett’s past USB projects such as:
SixAxisController HOWTO using a USB HID Portal
and we will be bringing the USB HID Portal device to Maker Faire in San Mateo, California so c’ ya there!
(I am thinking about live blogging and maybe setup a live camera or somethin’… what do you think???)
You can get Youtube version here but it’s hard to see.
You can get the Blip.tv version here too which is a lot better resolution.
