Mp3 players combined with a credit card, is not normally the sort of thing that you would expect to be seeing in the same line of text. But somehow, it seemed like a great idea to make an Mp3 player that looked like a credit card or is it the other way around, it gets confusing these days.

However, if this is curious way of disguising an Mp3 player in the hope that it would not be stolen; disguising it, as a credit card seems a bit crazy, they may as well disguised it as a 100 dollar bill. Nevertheless, this device can be worn around the neck for safety, but it is still looks dodgy.

As you know, Eye Fi is a wireless SD card that lets your digital frame act as wireless digital frame. (or any other gadgets)

If you want to automate image uploading or simply want to hack it, refer to this guy’s hack where he shows you how to hack the Eye-Fi wireless SD card.

Jeff Tchang did all the hard work and put together a handy python script that acts as a server for using an EyeFiCard on anything that’ll run python.
I added some sloppy code to make it upload the files it acquires to Gallery2 via a python based G2 client called gup.
I also moved the config line needed for the uploadkey towards the top of the file.

This is good idea for anyone that uses the USB cable between devices all of the time, what happens is say the user has a USB mouse and they want to read an SD card. The card is placed into the slot and this automatically cuts the cable off and so the data can be read, once the card is removed then the mouse cable is activated again.

The Eye-Fi hooks up to the internet and sends your photos to either an online sharing site or directly back to your home machine. In this case it was the latter, and the hapless thief not only sent the precious vacation shots back to Alison’s computer, but — according to the email we received from Gadget Lab reader Joe Volat — “pictures [of] the thieves proudly displaying Alison’s lifted camera equipment”.
