Computers and accessories are not really ever going to be green, they use all sorts of plastics, metals, the components have travel all around the world, and then there is the amount of power consumed by the device.
However, it seems that the artist Hanaoka from Japan has found the answer, you do not change the way that the computer is being made, just add a bit of grass for instant green appeal and it doesn’t even have to be a computer either this greening can be added to almost anything even my Land Rover!
This may a gimmick or joke, but there is a good idea at the end of it, because half the proceeds from the sale of these items goes to a group that help green up schools in Osaka.

iRotate enables you to use a key-combination to rotate your screen, in this case CTRL+ALT+DIRECTIONAL ARROW is the combination in play here. Xpadder enables you to map keys to controller buttons from a gamepad. The idea is to have Xpadder sense a change in orientation, and program it to press the correct key-combination used in iRotate, in order to rotate the screen accordingly.

Bamboo has been always one of my favorite sustainable materials for goods. My love for bamboo started when I used to catch dragonflies in Korea with a dragonfly catching net (which basically looks like a fishing rod with a net at the end) that was made from bamboo.

Anyways, here’s a Chinese company that’s making some great bamboo keyboards and mice. Perhaps whoever starts importing these into the States would make some big dollars.

This is a cross between steampunk and bone collectors, so having combined these tow concepts the designer has come up with this mouse that has the bottom part of steampunk design and the upper part is the skull or part of a skull from a sheep.

So how scary is that? I can understand the concept of it and our need to take a quick look, but sometimes there are things that should not be done and maybe this is one of those ideas.

Being a USB device, no software is required. Initially you might think that this mouse has been made from eco friendly materials or something like that, but you could not further from the truth. This might be a standard wired mouse but the eco button sitting there on top is just too good to resist.

However, if you press the button you are likely to be hit with a surprise! Because if you press the eco button this will make you computer automatically go into standby mode. It is a good idea because you are able to put the computer into a lower power setting, but that button is just too easy to press accidently!

What I like most about this is the remote mouse, it’s like having a wireless motion-sensing mouse, great for those of you with trouble even getting out of your bed. Would love to see this end up as an actual consumer product some day soon. (I’ve seen some already.)

Using the accelerometer and touchscreen of either an iPhone or iPod touch, Air Mouse works over a local Wi-Fi network to control you computer’s mouse and keyboard. I’ve seen more needs for an air mouse these days, especially if you like to hook up your computer to your HDTV in your bedroom and surf the web from your bed.

For exactly that purpose of lazying computing, you will want to consider getting an air mouse, which will work great on any surface or air.

Here’s a couple air mice on the market that might be worth getting:

The Gyrotransport Air mouse uses gyration to control the cursor, this is pretty much like the iPhone except you only use it as a mouse. At $59.99, I don’t see how you can lose with this one, especially because it can fit in your pocket or even your keychain. For bed computing, this might just be perfect for getting to that snazzy website right before bed.

The Logitech MX Air Mouse is another step beyond the previous air mouse, it features many, many buttons you can customize to your liking such as shortcuts to your favorite blogs such as Zedomax.com. (HAHAHA!) This mouse might be for those of you bed geeks who need a little more functionality.

This mouse works up to about 30 feet and battery lasts 20 hours so it can also replace your regular desktop mouse too.

The Gyration GYM2100NA Air Mouse resembles your regular ol’ desktop mouse, except it’s an “air” mouse. One of the most prominent features of this mouse is that it will work up to 100 feet with no line-of-sight restrictions, meaning you can have a big steel wall between you and your computer.

Definitely, my best choice would have to be this one since I am really sensitive to distance, I like to make sure I can control my livingroom computer from my kitchen.

At first, I though this was a “massage” mouse, sorta vibrating in your hand whenever you are clicking too much. Of course, I was wrong, it’s an LED “Message” mouse that will allow you to display a personalized message.

I do highly like the fan feature though, my hand gets so sweaty from all the writing and blogging, this might come in handy on those hot days after I finish working out.

Too bad it’s still not available in America, but I did spot a similar mouse for super cheap here.

Best Wireless Mouse Review!

One of the biggest pet-peeves I have is to have to “best” mouse available. I do this through trial and error, not by price.

Today, I will review some of the best wireless mice on the market.

First, let me tell you that you need a “laser” mouse, not an “optical” mouse. The “laser” mouse can practically work on any surface including your hardwood floor, sofa, boat, etc…etc… On the other hand, an optical mouse only works on perfectly flat and visible surfaces.

So, you need to buy a “laser” wireless mouse if you are going to buy one.

I’ve tried a bunch of Microsoft wireless mice and I have to say they all suck because most of them are optical. (But yes, Microsoft’s wired optical mouse is “really” good and my favorite wired mouse)

One of my friend’s uncle works at Logitech and I received one of the first wireless “laser” mouse from him as a gift about 1 year and a half ago. (I think)

That mouse I received as a gif was the Logitech VX Nano and boy did it work great. For 19 years before that, I didn’t buy a Logitech mouse because I had some problems with them back in 1989. Well, I guess things change and I have to say Logitech makes the best wireless mice today.

This Logitech VX Nano is slightly smaller than regular mouse but it’s great if you need a small USB receiver and you are a road-warrior like me.

This mouse is rather pricey at $49.99 but definitely worth it if you are a road-warrior who needs a small mouse that works on any surface, wirelessly.

Another feature I need to mention is that all Logitech mice work right away without installing any additional software, a plus if you use multiple computers/laptops like me.

Another good Logitech mouse is the Logitech V450 Nano, this one is slightly larger and probably better fit for desktop users.

Price: $37.95 on Amazon

For even slightly larger, you can go with the regular Logitech V450, cheaper than the rest too.

In all, I like the new Logitech mouse series since the radio receiver works great too, especially if you connect your laptop/PC to your HDTV and need long range workability.

Logitech has really come back from dead with their new wireless laser products, I can say that I am a customer again after 19 years of abstinence.

Well, if you want to hide that ugly Logitech mouse receiver (instead of sticking into your USB ports) inside the laptop itself, here’s a cool hack that shows you how to do it. Of course, don’t blame us if you void your warranty, stick with the factory-setup. :p

What I wanted to do was mount the Nano Receiver for my Logitech VX Nano laser notebook mouse within my Mini 9 without breaking down the receiver or soldering it in. That way it can be removed or replaced easily in the future.
