Here’s a video of the Batman Tumbler against a Formula F1 race car:

six vehicles were built: four full-sized vehicles for exterior shots, one hydraulics-equipped model, and a 1/3-scale radio-controlled version for wide shots. In person, the Tumbler is quite massive to say the least. The full-sized version, pictured above, had a functional engine (V8?), along with suspension.

Imagine going at 200MPH in one of these sustainable roasters while you burn less than 50 miles per gallon.  Better yet, the car burns no gas and the computer drives it for you to save as much energy as possible during its auto-pilot mode.

As said, these are “concept cars” and none of them probably will ever make to production.

The rims need some chrome though and I’d probably extend it to like 24″ rims…

According to Edmunds, Ford Escape Hybrid is one of the most fuel efficient SUV of 2008.  I was kinda surprised that Ford came on as one of the top SUVs for this as my friends used to always joke FORD stood for, “Fucked Over Rebuilt Dodge”.  (There some more funny ones on the urban dictionary)

Well, I am thinking about replacing my 16MPG 2002 Trailblazer in the near future for the most fuel efficient SUV and maybe this could be it.  (but I don’t like FORD!)

I guess I might have to go for a Mazda Tribute Hybrid…

TheCarConnection.com’s spy photographer ring has nabbed these new photos of the next BMW 5-Series, including the first interior photos. The cabin shot shows a relocated iDrive controller with satellite buttons, which may provide shortcuts like the buttons that surround Audi’s MMI controller. A joystick-style shifter is also found inside, as is a button for an electronic parking brake.

The high price of gasoline has some U.S. drivers looking to the future.

A recently introduced service called MyGallons.com allows drivers to fill up their tanks sometime in the future but at current prices, using a debit-like card which banks gallons rather than dollars.

“The price of gasoline was changing all the time. It seemed unpredictable,” Steven Verona, founder and owner of the Miami-based company, said on Monday.

The engineering geniuses at Porsche have designed a special moving dyno to test g-loads in a virtual ‘Ring. The system was used to test the upgraded dry sump oil system for the new 3.6- and 3.8-liter boxer engines powering the 2009 911 Carrera and Carrera S. The dry sump system now has a variable-flow pressure pump that needed to be tested extensively at the ‘Ring, but the new system can perform the same task whenever engineers want, and at a fraction of the cost.

Well, I’ve never expected this to come along, a 10/30W engine oil for cars that actually produces no smoke when burned.  The label says 2-cycle so I guess it’s mostly for motorcycles at this point.

With Seero, I guess you can even geo-map your movies.  It’s interesting as this movie is based on San Francisco streets and I know where they shot it.

It’d be way cool if all new movies came out with a PiP screen of Google Maps showing the location.  (maybe one day when Google starts buying theaters…)

I’m a huge fan of ‘the king of cool’ and of all movie car-chase scenes. I thought it would be great to mashup famous chases with their GPS tracks. Keep in mind some of the chases cut from one place to another…so I tried to be as accurate as possible. Enjoy!

I remember they had 3D fake bumpers in Korea about 20 years ago when I lived there.  Well, now Philadelphia is trying them but the bumpers look too fake and I don’t think they will work well…

A new program dubbed “Drive CarePhilly” is being rolled out in Philadelphia in an attempt to get drivers to follow speed limits. As part of the program, approximately 100 intersections will be fitted with high tech 3D decals that they believe will fake out drivers into thinking there is something in the intersection.
