With more and more designers and artists using recycled materials for their new art, here’s a cool array of sea creatures made with recycled plastic bottles.

The mere fact that plastic water bottles have transparent quality lends itself as the primary basis of our crafty plastic adventure. With that in our minds and fuelled with inspiration and fervor, both of us began the lengthy and labourous activity of sorting, cleaning, slicing, threading,…….etc.

We finally came out with some luminous pieces as well as several non-lighting pieces.

Yes, perhaps making robot sculptures out of styrofoam may have some merits such as in 3D-movie making but you do get to pass a lot of time in a hurry.

Michael Salter is something of a pack rat. Instead of letting all that clutter go to waste as some might, however, he puts it to good use — or into making robot sculptures.

You may remember these adorable Styrobots from a little while ago. His new creation is a little bigger; it stands over 22 feet high and needs a wooden, skeletal armature to keep it standing as well as moving vans to transport it. The smaller Styrobots at its feet keep people from getting too close and accidentally knocking it over.

Now, here’s an artwork that’s composed of swirling electronics.  It doesn’t seem to be too hard to make since all you’d need is some working, recycled electronic parts and stuff them into a big wire tree but it does kinda remind me of Las Vegas, that is of drunken lights. (or is it lights seen after 2 gallons of margarita?)

Here’s a great way to recycle those old shopping carts into works of arts.

A British artist named Ptolemy Elrington, creates jaw dropping scultures and art from recycled items found in kitchen pantries such as utensils, juicers, mixers, and toasters.

Here’s some really cool hub cap creatures made from hub caps found on the side of roads.  Very creative!

Hubcap creatures are made entirely from re-cycled materials. All the hubcaps are found, usually on the side of the road, and therefore bear the scars of their previous lives in the form of scratches and abrasions. I believe these marks add texture and history to the creatures they decorate, and so choose not to fill, overpaint or alter them in any way.

Remember we featured Touch Tetris way back last year? Well, I saw it in person at the Maker Faire 2008 so I had to post another video of how “cool” it is.
