Here’s a really neat idea, a solar powered fridge for camels so you can keep all your drinks while traveling with the Camel. This was actually primarily for transporting vaccines in the hot desert areas but heck, I’d use it to cool my beer too.

In transit, the lightweight, foldable solar panel powers the camel-pack refrigeration system. Once the camel convoy arrives at the remote health clinic site, the panel can be used in combination with larger solar panels to provide power for the health clinic. A foot-powered system provides backup and provides light in the clinic during extended operational hours when solar power is not available.

I don’t have any production pictures, but it should you show the general idea on how to assemble a very sturdy stand. It’s pretty simple to build, because it kind of squares itself.

You know that cat’s litterbox can become potentially dangerous to your health with its deadly fumes, especially for pregnant women.  Now, here’s a cool way to make a self-ventilating cat litterbox so you don’t have to worry about all that invisible bad-for-your-health fumes.

I recently saw a post on Apartment Therapy showing a homemade “Cat Jet” ventilation solution (http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/ny/at-email/tools-for-pet-living-the-cat-jet-and-the-roomba-email-from-9108-062199) using a bathroom fan to vent the noxious fumes of a litter box from the inside of the house to the outside. As a home automation geek I immediately was inspired to take it up a notch by combining similar hardware to a series of timers.

Here’s a brilliant pet clock from Japan.  It’s a clock customized for your dog or cat as time accelerated 7 times so you get a real “dog” (cat) years for keeping track of how old your pet is. (in his/her terms)

Thankfully though, this Pet Care Clock from Sega Toys is designed to do the difficult math for you. It’s your standard LCD desk clock that shows the time and date, but once you enter your pet’s birth date and specify their approximate size, the clock will also show you their supposed age. (Calculated with a variety of different formulas.) And if you’re the type who likes to celebrate a pet’s birthday you’re in luck. In theory if your dog is aging 7x as fast as you, they should also have 7 birthdays a year, and this clock will actually alert you to every single one of them so you can remember to pick up a gift and a cake on the way home.

Although this is just a joke, this Cat Carrier should receive an award for the world’s most in-human cat carrier.  Everything looks fine except I don’t think the cat will appreciate a dildo up her/his arse and the head cap which probably break the cat’s head more than hold it.

Of course, if you really hate cats, you can immerse yourself with Cat Arse Sharpener and the Cat Paw.

Don’t worry, I’m sure the cat isn’t in much pain, it’s perfectly humane.  They’ll love getting to travel more with the family.  You could even take your cat outside with you for a nice summer day and not have to worry about it causing any mischief.  According to Dr. Malmes Dobson it will “mold your special cat into the well-mannered creature God intended.”  Sounds perfectly safe to me, I don’t see where a design such as this could possibly go wrong.  If only this product were one you could snatch up in stores.  Sadly no such luck as of now.

Do you have a lot of pretty little birds in your yard?  Then, you might want to consider building your birds their own birdhouse to live in and breed.

So bring some modernism to your house, whatever its era, by creating a home for your native avian population by building a mid-century birdhouse. I’ve included my measurements and process here, but feel free to model yours after architecture you love. And don’t worry if you don’t have a full collection of woodworking tools (I don’t either…) You can build a birdhouse with any handsaw, an electric drill, and glue. Or, you can borrow tools from a local tool lending library or have the employees at your local lumberyard or home center make the cuts for you.

Isiah Johnson of Chevy Chase, Maryland, was busted by a GPS equipped turtle, who is obviously good at finding his own stash to eat. (or do turtles smoke too?)

Too bad he isn’t a medical marijuana card holder living in San Francisco (he’d have been legally allowed to grow like 5-10 plants), he is stuck with Maryland’s gay laws and probably head to jail or probation at the least.

A Chevy Chase resident was arrested last week in connection with a marijuana field growing in Rock Creek Park south of the Maryland line.

Isiah Johnson, 19, a resident of the 2300 block of Washington Avenue, was charged July 30 with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute after United States Park Police discovered 10 marijuana plants growing in a remote part of the park.
