The US science and technology division, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) have been well known for funding some rather exotic and strange ideas, but this recent idea is cute and yet very scary all at the same time. It is call the Nano Hummingbird and has been produced by the California based manufacturer of unmanned aircraft, AreoVironment Inc with the backing of DARPA to the tune of around $4 million.
The humming bird drone has 6.5 inch wing span and weighs just nineteen grams, it uses less power than AA battery produces to fly at around eleven miles an hour for around eight minutes, it has a built in camera and would be able to fly through open windows or hover outside buildings to observe, now you should be scared! Check out this YouTube video to see it being tested.
