I am sure that there must have been some attempts by other manufacturers to bring out a device such as this, but this is the version of a mouse and calculator combo being brought out by Canon.
It is a laser mouse so no wires necessary here, but you have to wonder why? Sure, it is a mouse and a calculator, but apart from bookkeepers who use a calculator enough that they need to have one fitted into their mouse?
Here are the specs for the unusual mouse and calculator combo from Canon:
10-digit calculator, Wireless 3 button laser (1200 dpi) mouse or numeric keypad, Integrated Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity, Partly made from Canon copier recycled material, Low Battery indicator and Auto-power off and Compatible with Windows and Macintosh
Priced at around $60

It’s for those of us with these imac wireless keyboards. Imagine my surprise when I open the box and saw…. no keypad! Typing in credit cards, doing spreadsheets, simple calculations… all sooo much easier with a calc and to have it right there all the time… no clutter? Priceless!
(Well, not priceless but certainly less costly than buying a brand new upgraded keyboard)
