This is a real creepy looking robot that has been created by the Osaka University and Japan’s ATR to add more of the feature to communications with this telepresence robot. It is supposed to make interaction between people who cannot physically see each, say like while on the phone etc.
It is supposed to give more credibility to the call and therefore make the person at the other feel at ease, but in realty, you have to think that it could have the opposite effect.
