I have actually been shopping for a new Android Tablet recently after I covered the Android Tablet running Flash the other day. The best candidate seems to be pointing at Archos 7, which has already been released in Europe. (It’s available for pre-order in the U.S., launch date set to May 17th)
Here’s a video review of the Archos 7 by a YouTuber:
One thing I don’t like about the Archos 7 is that it runs the older Android OS 1.5. Of course, I am sure someone will figure out a way to upgrade it to Android 2.2 later on. (just like Android 2.1 can be installed on G1 Phone’s 1.5)
Really though, my last point for not buying an Archos 7 yet is that I want to wait out for a slightly bigger (perhaps around 9 to 10 inches) and faster processor. But not sure, maybe I will just get one to play with (and hack) it.
And oh yeah, HP is going to be releasing their new WebOS-running tablet real soon, I might get one of those. My experiences with the Palm Pre for the last 6 months tell me it’s UI and application card system beats Android and any other smartphone system hands-down. The only thing Palm fail to make Palm Pre Plus with a bigger LCD screen. Still, my Palm Pre does some things my Nexus One can’t.
