Yelp Lawsuit points to bigger problem in social media
The Yelp Lawsuit making the news today is a great example what might happen if the Internet continues to be a Wild West of capitol development. Apparently, a handful of small businesses claim Yelp told them they would can bad reviews if the businesses bought into Yelp ads.
It looks like the business owners, who are only in it for some lawsuit money, could stand to get rich on this. And Yelp could be in trouble with its users, who create content for the review giant in exchange for freedom of speech when it comes to bad business. Looks like that’s all a bunch of hot smoke.
This is just another lawsuit in the ever-growing corporate war. (As Max mentioned in the daily video, HTC and Google both had big days against Apple and Viacom, respectively.)
Do you think Yelp was playing dirty, do you think it deserves a lawsuit?
Have a good weekend, folks. I’ll be starting to blog more regularly on Monday about tech, how to and anything else that comes to mind. I often post HowTos that I try myself and approve. But sometimes I like to just get tech news stuff like this out there so we can talk about it.
