When anyone gets rid of a computer the hard drive should be taken out and smashed to pieces, as that is the only way the make that data cannot be recovered from it.

However, it seems that there could be a more pleasant way of making sure that your data is safe and that the hard drive is being used for something else.

These cool looking clocks use an old hard drive where the disk has been cut to produce the numbers, therefore is cannot be read. The design makes uses of the fast spinning disk to display the time in a digital format.
