Top 10 Best Lomo Actions HOWTOs and Tutorials!
When it comes to Photoshop, the possibilities are limitless. The beauty of Photoshop is that you don’t really need to spend thousands of dollars for photography schools as you can work some magic right at home.
My favorite Photoshop effect hands down is the “lomo effect” as images tend to reverberate with joy. While purists may frown at replicating Lomo in Photoshop and nothing can truly beat Lomographic analog cameras, some of the Photoshop techniques come quite close
For the uninitiated, the essence of Lomography is over-saturated colors, blurring, off-kilter exposure, and candid photography. For me it’s the funky vintage vibe that makes me love the effect. So, I am going to post some of the best tutorials and actions that will let you easily emulate the Lomo effect digitally.
Lomo Action By Addicted To Design

Lomo Effect In 5 Steps

1. Less contrast (optional really – i think the final effect is better with less contrast but it’s not necessary and can be turned off later)
2. Creating a vignette
3. Editing the color with Curves – editing the channels individually for more vintage coolers

Tutorial For X-PRO LOMO Look
X-pro, or cross processing is an integral part of Lomography and this tutorial tells you how to tweak the color and a new method of vignetting.
Step 1. The first thing we’re going to do is widen up the lens angle a little bit. Go to Filter > Distort > Lens Correction and drag the top slider (Remove Distortion) a tiny bit to the left. Don’t overdo it, but make it look like the lens warps out a little.
Step 2. Next, copy the image layer and hit Q to enter quick mask mode. Press D to make sure you’re painting in black, and B to select the brush tool. Select a nice, big, fuzzy brush, at full opacity and a low flow, paint in most of the image. Stay away from the corners.
